I just heard that everyone in LA uses a color headshot now. Am I so outta touch that I didn't know I needed color headshots? Is this de rigeur in NYC now? I honestly don't think I've seen anyone using color at any casting calls this past winter.

Sshould we leave color to the west coast?

I'm sticking to black and white in NY for tv and film. So far, I haven't seen color being used here.

Ditto. Stick to B&W for theater. Lots of theories on why. One, being, that they possess a certain clarity and are generic enough to consider you for the role that are looking for.

I know it makes little logical sense, but casting directors like B&W. I'd be interested in getting more 'qualified' reasons, myself.

It's easier to see your features in B&W while not getting distracted by the color.

Stick to B&W that's what most actors here use.
