Color Purple Discount?

I could only find one (theatermania) which expires early April. I'm looking for April 20th, if anyone knows of another discount that goes that far, I'd greatly appreciate it!

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I'm not interested in rushing and I realize its doing well. I'm not looking for the cheapest way to go, just a discounted way. Just looking for a code to use in advance.

Yes, I know....still looking for a CODE, so I can pre-purchase now (or very soon).....to attend in a month from now.



And 75 is not a discount price for the tix they are offering....that's the regular rear mezz price.

I've used Today's Tix....so no one's code does me any good.

Actually, NO ONE said there wasn't a discount code, but people offered other suggestions. And how could I be sure, unless I asked?



And since it's on TKTS often, there likely WILL be a code...in fact I have one, but that is only good for the next two weeks, which isn't when I"m going. The dates I'm looking at has TONS of availability, so it's not that much in demand.

Perhaps it's not intended, but the tone coming across in your writing and through the capitalization is feeling aggressive and entitled. People are offering suggestions — it may not be what you're looking to hear, but politeness goes further than abrasive responses.

I am not able to find any code that is valid April 20th yet. If there are as many tickets available as you say, then waiting to see if a code will be released shouldn't be an issue.

There's no way of knowing when a new code will be released, but they usually appear close to the expiration date of the prior code. I'm waiting for one to appear for the dates Marin Mazzie is in The King and I

How is further explaining myself in any way nasty? Caps is a form of emphasis, and nothing else.

At times, codes are released exclusively through mailers or other less publicized avenues. That's all the OP was asking. She just wanted to know if any one had a code that she wasn't able to come across on her own. I don't see any rudeness or entitlement in her posts.

If you'll notice, you caps on WILL and TONS are emphasizing you incredulity at the responses of others trying to help you, as if you know there must be a code and you can't believe people are offering you other suggestions. Again, it may not have been intended, but the emphatic nature of capitalization does often come across as agressive, even if not meant to.

Drama, your request is perfectly reasonable. A discount code is sometimes the only option when getting tickets in advance . Information on Today Tix, rush and TKTS weren't at all relevant to your question.

FWIW, I initially read your replies as being a bit aggressive until I went back and looked at your original request for a discount code extending further out into the future.



I think we all generally try to be helpful on these boards and share what we know, but when a request for info is very specific, any other information ends up not being as helpful as intended.

I believe they will have a new code available after this date. I saw Color Purple this January using a discount code. Surprised that they still have a code now. You can wait until this one expires and see if they have a new one.

Why are you insisting on making this an argument? Would you fault a drowning man for not being grateful that someone offered him aspirin instead of a life preserver?



To be honest, yes, I would prefer paying full price to standing in line in for hours - my time is valuable. Which is why I asked about a code. I didn't put anyone down for their suggestions, I was (again) just trying to further explain what I was looking for since folks were off track. I have often asked for this very help for other shows, and have gotten codes I of which I was unaware.



If you insist on looking for offence or disrespect, you will certainly find it. I've made it clear that none was intended.
