Color Purple closing 12/18?

Just booking my tickets for my December trip. With all of the speculation as to when Erivo's contract will end, I found it interesting that they are only selling tickets through 12/18. I am not aware of another show that hasn't placed for sale tickets through the holiday season. Seems kind of silly that they haven't listed tickets for sale through the holiday season unless something is going on behind the scenes.

Anyone have any insight into this?

Given the uptick in sales/attendance for all Broadway shows between Christmas/New Years, I doubt any show would be closing on the 18th. They may be holding off on releasing the next block of tickets until they can either extend her contract or announce her replacement? If she were leaving in January, they would want to let people know for whom they were purchasing a ticket to see, or if they do close, they can just peg the closing to the end of her contract.
