Hello!
So, obviously, Come From Away is about 9/11, so to those who lived through it might be (for lack of a better word) triggered. I'm curious to know-- does the show explicitly show footage of the towers or any of the actual attacks?
(I apologize if there is a post about this-- can't seem to find it. Feel free to link it if so!)

Huh? Of course not. It not about the attacks of 9/11. It's based on scenario that happened (the detouring of planes to one town) because of the attacks of 9/11. There is reference to 9/11 but at no time is graphic footage shown, etc.

It is not about 9/11, not directly! It is about how the town of Gander, Newfoundland, welcomed 7000 people when the US closed it's airspace because of 9/11. The whole show takes place over the five days they were stranded there.
That being said, there are scenes that reference 9/11 though they focus only on how it affects the characters. One scene where they watch the news (No footage is show, no strong reactions show) and one very poignant song "Something's Missing" about how hard it was to go back to their regular lives in the wake of such a tragedy. I found it very evocative, but the show concentrates only on the feelings involved rather than anything explicit. The themes of loss, coming together, and communal grief are very universal.

The production is fairly low-tech (and that's not a disparagement). The relatively bare set is decorated only with tree trunks and a group of mismatched wooden chairs and tables that are moved on, off, and around the stage by the cast as necessary to suggest the appropriate environment. There are no video screens, projections, or any other wiz-bang effects. As others have said, there are no visual depictions (literal or figurative) of the terrorist attacks, and there are no lyrics or dialogue that mention the incidents in graphic or vivid terms.

Not to mention, they only say "September 11th" once or twice. Other than that it's referred to "that day" or "that morning" or something of the sorts. Very tastefully done!

As others said, it's delicately handled and it deals with the emotions rather than the actual events. Some moments might be a little more sensitive (end of "Me and the Sky," some of Bob's lines when he gets home) but there's nothing graphic.
