I would like to see new musical works for David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, Alex Borstein, Seth McFarland, and Bridget Everett (together or separately). I'd rather not see particularly good comic talent wasted in revivals of works that were created for other specific comic talents.
Seth Macfarlane, absolutely. He has the total package to do a musical comedy right. With his crooning, you could plunk him into any old revival of the Golden Age shows; but I'd prefer he write a vehicle for himself like Martin Short's Fame Becomes Me. Alex Borstein could guest and I'm sure he could line up some celebrities to appear in bit parts for limited runs to keep interest and PR going. Although, if someone could finally fix up Mack & Mabel, he would be wonderful opposite Annaleigh Ashford.
After last nights SNL I would NOT mind Donald Glover making his broadway debut.

I've always been intrigued by the possibility of Jack Black as Hedwig- he doesn't look like a former twink, but I assume not every German gay boy in the Cold War did. His smaller scale "character study" films like Bernie make me think he could handle the delicate tragicomedy of the part, and some of those songs seem custom-made for his voice. If nothing else, I'd like to hear him do "Origin of Love" and "Midnight Radio" in a concert.
