Hello, luvvies!
I have a gig approaching and I'm looking for a fun, comic number. I'm pretty much your standard tenor. ...I'm going COMPLETELY brain dead and can't seem to think of anything, but I'd like to sing something I can sink my teeth into in terms of character -- something to break the monotony of ballads and the like (it's for an annual benefit concert/cabaret and most of the solos are typically ballads). For reference, the songs I've sung in the previous cabarets have been:
Beat My Dog (in Audra's original key)
Nothing Like You've Ever Known (Song & Dance)
Taylor The Latte Boy
I'd Rather Be Sailing (A New Brain)
I'd love to find a song to REALLY have fun with. HELP! PLEASE HELP!
(Look up Rigazzi on YouTube and you'll find my performances of the songs listed above, as a reference. Keep all scathing comments about my performances to yourselves... hehehehe...)
Thoughts????

'Great Big Stuff' from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels could be very funny.
Granted, it's not so much of a showing of your voice song, as just a comedic number.
THANKS! And I'm actually not too concerned with a "showing off my voice" type of song. I'd rather have a fun character number than a big-ol' warbler. SO that might be a really fun choice!

This is a little more baritone than tenor, but Gesticulate from Kismet is a really fun song that you can hit some great notes on near the end.

Did you see Michael Ball as Count Fosco in THE WOMAN IN WHITE? He did a showstopping comedic number called "You Can Get Away With Anything", complete with costume, makeup, moustache, wig, fat suit, and melodramatic gestures
You can hear Michael Crawford's version on the London cast recording.
