I guess considering the title, what you get is what you get. How amateurish.
High School Musical at NSMT
Did you see the show? 54,000 people did see it during the shows 4 week run. If HSM is not your cup of tea that is fine, come to our premiere of THREE MUSKETEES.
Reading the reviews I cant seem to find it called "Community Theatre" anywhere.
NSMT's HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL reviews.
I actually really like what they did to the show. Doing it in the round changes the whole atmosphere and it seems really good.
and AKB and Kate R. so good.
I thought it was pretty good. Not my kind of show but it was enjoyable. It was great to see so many young folks in the theatre audience! They were having a blast. How great it is to see young ones catching the theatre bug. They are our audiences of tomorrow.

I know somebody is going to hate me for saying this, but...is Andrew's character suppose to be so...feminine? Maybe that's his take on the role..but, really?

I'm not really sure - i know that if I was cast as that character, I would probably tone it down a bit.
Most portrayals of Ryan in HSM that I've seen have taken the effeminate route (AKB, Lucas, etc.). So I would say that it's a very common portrayal of the character.

In that case, that's stupid. That just further stereotypes men in musical theater. Sure, Troy is the "jock" - but the kid actually invovled in musical theater is "effeminate." Way to go Disney. Breaking boundries.
Was the director from Disney? If not, then don't blame Disney.
Not a very enthusiastic review:
As a musical, 'Musketeers' is faithful to a fault

Actually, I think Disney is breaking boundaries. In HSM II, Ryan is portrayed as both a theater geek and an athlete - while the "jocks" agree to be dancers. The "we're all in this together" message resonates strongly with kids.
And don't shoot me here, but Zac Efron is not a masculine stereotype.

Yeah, Broadwayworld's reviewer saw a lot more potential in MUSKETEERS.
