Does anyone know if the Lincoln Center Company movie will be release on DVD and if so when?

I spoke with one of the producers and she let slip that a DVD release was planned, but said the date would depend on ticket sales.

I would guess some time in the fall, tho...

I don't know what their expectations were for ticket sales, but in my not-a-major-market the movie was held over an extra week and is being brought back again.

(Note: the show played here for two weeks: not 5 times per day, but numerous performances at twice the regular price. And I live in Palm Springs, not Enid, OK.)

I wonder why the date of release (and not just a release itself) would be dependent on ticket sales.

Thanks for the cover art, Brody. What matters is that we'll get a DVD eventually, whatever the wait.

FWIW, Neil Patrick Harris' Smurf movie is a huge hit here and abroad. That can't hurt the prospects for a DVD. Updated On: 8/15/11 at 05:04 PM

Any chance of a Blu-ray?

The previous release of 'Company' and 'Sondheim: The Birthday Concert!' both had Hi-Def outings and neither of them, afaik, had cinema releases.

Yes, it is also being released on Blu-ray disc.
