Anyone heard if the newest production
of Company will tour? Just saw the latest
revivial, with Esparza, on NetFlix...
wow! This revamped production needs a good
Equity tour.
It closed a while ago. I doubt it will tour...
And it wouldn't need a good equity tour. The Doyle production of Sweeney Todd just became non equity and it is still going.
The Sweeney Todd tour is still Equity. The final Equity stop is Denver, which finishes at the end of June.
Company is on Netflix? Thanks for the tip. Don't hold your breath for a tour, but anything can happen.
Intimate show that didn't succeed commercially in its Broadway mounting.
No chance of a tour.
I'm a huge fan, but I don't think a tour would do very well.
Plus, what is that show without Raul?
When it closed has nothing to do with whether or not it will tour. But no, it's not touring. And even as one of its biggest fans, I don't see why it would.
This was a very well staged
production. The actors as musicians...
I loved their facial expressions and
staying-in-character while playing the
various instruments. Raul was great but
most of the cast were very strong in
their roles.

With the the dvd being broadcast all over the united states, I doubt it would tour.
i WISH it would tour, but I agree, slim chance
who else could play bobby?! i know hugh panaro has and I could see that really well
I'd love to see Neil Patrick Harris play Bobby at some point. I think he'd pull it off quite nicely.

I don't think i'd see the Doyle production again without Raul.
(Then again, if there were some surprises in the supporting cast, I could be convinced.)

As much as I love Raul, there are a good handfull of actors I would love to see play Bobby. Though I can NOT imagine anyone else playing Amy other than Heather Laws. She was divine.
I too would like to see Neil Patrick Harris as Bobby.
Scot I saw it last night on Netflix....fantastic!
For some reason I disliked Laws in the PBS broadcast, yet remember she was my favorite part of the revival when I saw it last year. She was stunning and I was shocked when she didn't get a Tony nod.
Neil Patrick Harris and Donna Murphy (as Joanne) need to be in a revival, perhaps at the LA Opera House where Victor Garber, Laura Benanti and Kristen Bell did A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.
The only way I'd see this show touring is a small 4-5 venue tour a la CAROLINE, OR CHANGE.
Ray,
Donna Murphy as Joanne is precisely what I was thinking when I referenced "some surprises in the supporting cast" in my previous post. I mean, not necessarily in the Doyle production... but somewhere in some production of the show!
I saw the tour last night!
It was AWESOME!
