Hey,

I am planning on going to a matinee tomorrow. I have seen the required Broadway board faves (Sweeney, Drowsy, etc.) and I want something different and not full price.

Should I get the $10 Spring Awakening ticket, or rush The Wedding Singer or The Lieutenant of Inishmore, or any show that I have a good chance of getting into on a small budget?

Not being familiar with Inishmore, if you want something different I would definitely say Spring Awakening over Wedding Singer.

If you want a huge spectacle with a fantastic cast and a catchy score, that's Wedding Singer, just don't expect anything terribly innovative.

Spring Awakening, on the other hand, is a truly unique experience. It's basically a teenage angst musical made up of a 19th century German play, very Brechtian staging, and a great indie rock score. I'm not going to lie, it's VERY weird, but I loved every minute of it.

Lieutenant of Inishmore. Great and original play and the most hysterical show I have seen in a while.

Inishmore!

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.
