Not sure if he can sing.
But I would assume they wouldn't put him in the role if they didn't think he could sing it.
I think he'll do a very good job.

Yes that is James Marsden and he can sing very very well..if you go to the place that is not supposed to be mentioned on here...you can find him in episodes of ALLY MCBEAL singing many songs...he is very good and his voice and him are perfect for Corny.

Since there is a bigger amount of Council Members, will "Nicest Kids in Town" be longer? There are, like, what 18 of them!! On B'Way there were 8, not including Link & Amber.

not sure. She is mentioned as having a cameo in the USA today article.

"The filmmakers were determined to cast an unknown to follow in the dance steps of Ricki Lake, who has a cameo, along with Waters and Tony winner Marissa Jaret Winokur."

go onto the youknowwhat site and have a search videos of James Marsden singing... there's this one Elvis Presley song he sang... I nearly died!
I think it's abit weird that Corny Collins is much more handsome and SO much hotter and not saying can sing much better with alot more charisma than Link... but that's just for now (hopefully!), things will probably change after the show comes out ~

After watching said video, I think people have to give more credit for the casting, and not shoot it down in a second. I mean, its peoples jobs to cast a movie, and I doubt they are going to cast actors or actresses in a musical movie who can't sing.

oh no, don't get me wrong. i was pleasantly surprised, cos i'm not a big ally mcbeal fan and i missed the fact that the very beautiful james marsden is a singer! i have a lot of faith in this casting actually, its seems to make a lot of sense - they've mixed a good lot of seasoned pros with names and newcomers. and tho i'm not 100% about zac efron, its a coup on the marketing front.
