Stopped in today to ask about rush info - figured I'd clear up everything that's been thrown around here.
Sold in advance: Tickets to the last 5 rows of the balcony, $27, with ID card.
Sold when the box office opens: 10 front row orchestra seats, same price, with ID card. On matinee days, both performances are sold right away. Once these tickets sell out, they go for the balcony seats.
Thank you for getting a definite answer to this.

THANKS SO MUCH YANKEEFAN!
So just to clarify...this is student, not general rush? I assume so, since you mentioned ID.

That's what the nice man said.
I rushed this weekend and they asked to see my ID. So yeah, it's definitely student rush.

what time would it be recommended to get there to get Front Row?
YankeeFan, you sound like a little girl from and episode of Law and Order (SVU): "That's what the nice man said."
"what time would it be recommended to get there to get Front Row?"
I got a ticket at around 12:30 for the matinee on Saturday, and it was in the balcony. I'd say be there when the BO opens if you really want front row.

"Now, Gypsy, point to me on this doll where the scary man touched you..."
Anyone know how early people have been lining up for the front row seats lately? Last I heard was 9:30.
Is this show really all that popular with the college crowd?
I got to the theater right before 10 am this morning (Wednesday) and got the third and fourth front row seats for the evening show with maybe four tickets ahead of me going to the matinee too. So I guess I would suggest being there before the box office opens, but I don't know if you have to be there extremely early or anything.
And front row was AMAZING!!!!
I have Row B-109 for May 27.
I would certainly my view's not 'too far off in the distance' - I want to experience the show full-on. I was nervous before 'cause apparently, FRONT ROW is TOO DAMN CLOSE FOR COMFORT (for some). Glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah there was some stuff you couldn't see, but I didn't think it was that bad and if you're a few rows back I would think you'd be good. But there were really, maybe less than five parts where I found myself really straining.
Hope you have a blast when you go!

Straining how? I guess I've never sat front row so I would imagine you can see everything unless they're at the front of the stage.
Keep in mind, Rentboy, there are footlights - which more-than-likely add to the obstruction. From what I understand they've added a Row BB to the Center Orchestra (whereas, during the previous productions at the St. James), Center Orchestra would BEGIN at Row A. It depends on the house (and) how the actual 'design' is set-up - in order to truly understand (and) later appreciate a production on the whole.
Nevertheless, with all of that said and out of the way, I wish you a splendid evening of Ms. LuPone's finest work (I hope, I hope, I hope!) - By the by, I AM VERY MUCH EXCITED!
By straining I mean you can't really see the little that goes on towards the back of the stage if they're on the floor or sitting down and such. But, in my opinion, it wasn't that bad and didn't happen very often.
Plus, for the most part, they are right there in front of you (literally)!
And I didn't see the footlights as much of an obstruction, and it's $27...
I walked by about a week ago and by around 9:15 there were already about 5 people in line. Any word as to whether it's one or two per id? I did the advanced the other week and was able to get two per id, just wondering if that goes for the day of as well.
It's two per id on the day of for front row too!
FYI - yesterday rush was the partial view seats in the orchestra.
To elaborate on antiandrewx, on Friday they gave the seats on the extreme sides of the orchestra just like they did for THE PRODUCERS. But for this show you don't miss nearly as much because the orchestra takes up the majority of what you miss. They still sell the front row first because I wanted to get them but my friend took forever so I didn't get there til 10:30 and the guy told me the last person to get front row was there at 10:05.
Will they do rush for opening night?
