Confirmed: I Love Lucy Live Tour CANCELLED for 15-16 season

I Love Lucy Live On Stage Thanks for your patience, Patti and Melanie. Unfortunately running a live stage production is a business and due to the present unavailability of a viable tour we needed to forego this 15/16 season. This is a labor of love for us, we’ve worked very hard on this show over the past 5 years. We are thrilled to know that when this 2014/15 season comes to an end after our jam-packed weeks in Cincinnati - and coming up in Orlando, America will have seen this show performed 669 times! We are disappointed & saddened as well and appreciate all of the love our fans send us every day via social media and via the standing ovations at every performance! We thank you so much of your support and we are currently analyzing what our options are for the future of “Lucy Live”!

It was supposed to play Houston this coming season. They have replaced it with Bullets Over Broadway.

Gosh, I hope everyone gets paid and they don't have a repeat of what happened the last time the tour closed down.

No offense meant, but I can watch "I Love Lucy" every day with the original cast.  Why would I want to see these people recreating it?

I think you're being kind, Wilmington.  These types of raised-from-the-dead tribute shows give me the creeps.  Just like those awful Beatlemania style shows.  I don't give a **** about how accurate these acts of mimicry are, they creep me out.

I was most surprised to learn that this was an equity tour, albeit a low budget one. I thought for sure it was a little non-equity bus and truck. 

Its ts still coming down here to Orlando in two weeks, which I guess will be the last stop, and it doesn't appear to be selling all that well.

I complained about the tour last year on these boards when I saw the understudies play the roles. Amateur hour.

I befriended one of the cast members online and the show has been a train wreck from the beginning. They told me about mismanagement of funds by the producers and the amount of debt the show has racked up. Add to it the backstage theatrical drama of one gossipy cast member, it was a mess from the get-go. 

Sorry to see so many cast and crew folks head to the unemployment line though.

This show was listed as part of the forthcoming season at the University of Kansas' Lied Center series. It was replaced with Patti LuPone in concert.

I agree these recreations are a total turn off. I think the only way they might work is if they were done in a purposely bizzaro sort of way. Make some kind of outsider comment on the original in an original way. I think last years pseudo "Threes Company" comedy might have fit this category, although I skipped it because I heard it was bad for a host of other reasons.

The latest incarnation of I Love Lucy Live On Stage closes tonight in Orlando. Working 5 years with hundreds of highly talented artists to bring this little Valentine across the US and Canada has been a joy. But as there’s always something up the Redhead’s sleeve, I suggest to ‘stay tuned’ for future seasons.
