Congratulations to John Lithgow on his run!

As most of you know, tonight (Sun 1/15) is John Lithgow's final performance in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. I just wanted to wish him well and congratulate him on his very hard work on his time with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and for helping the show become such a hit. So let's post here well wishes for John and perhaps share memories, thoughts, critques, etc of this most amazing man. Reviews of the final performance to follow after the show?

re: Congratulations to John Lithgow on his run!

I never had the joy of seeing him in the role (I saw his understudy in late december) but I just imagined him playing the role and I love him on the OBCR. I wish him the best in his upcoming projects. :)

I'll always remember John and Norbert's "Dirty Rotten Number" as being one of the highlights of my theatre experiences. There'll never be a dirty rotten guy like him!

BRAVO JOHN!!!

"It was a ball, it was a blast, and it's a shame it couldn't last...."

Thanks to John for one of my most memorable nights of theater! This was my daughter's FIRST Broadway show experience, and she still talks about how much she loved everyone in the show. Thank you, John, for giving 110% every performance! Now, please come back to the West coast and perform in another brilliant role. (After a few months in the tropics of course. Or I hear the South of France is lovely this time of year!) re: Congratulations to John Lithgow on his run!

A terrific actor (and to the cast of Third Rock...the head honcho and much loved).

Congrats on a great run...can't wait for the "final" performance and all the deserved excitement tonight!

Congratulations to John and a big thank you for all the hard work he's put into DRS, and for helping make this show one of the highlights of Broadway.

You'll be missed John!

Congrats on a great run to John! I saw him in August and seeing him and Norbert work together was probably the most fun I have ever had in a theatre!

I've been lucky enought to see Mr. Lithgow three times in this role, and he never ceases to amaze me. Congrats on a fantastic run...the words of the "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" number have never been more true.

Congrats!! The chemistry between John and Norbert was amazing and I can't wait to see how Jonathan Pryce does the role. Any amazing show and an amazing performer.

I'm seeing the show tonight, and I can't wait to see his brilliant performance one last time. I know I won't be disappointed. I'm sure Norbert and Johnathan will be tremendous, but the chemistry between Norbert and John will always be unforgettable.

Congrats John... and to the posters... don't you think the Dirty Rotten Number is going to be quite difficult to get through tonight re: Congratulations to John Lithgow on his run! I'm a Wicked fan (first step is admitting the problem right re: Congratulations to John Lithgow on his run!) and the lyrics to that song remind me of For Good... just more upbeat. I'm sure him and Norbert will make it one hell of a last show though!

Such a talent! Enjoyed his perfromance SO much Even secondary songs like "The More We Dance" were elevated by his talent on the great songs like "Dirty Rotten Number" or "Love Sneaks In" the performaces were pure heavenly fun and joy. Thanks to one of my fav performers for a truly enjoyable experience!

Norbert Leo Butz quotes about John Lithgow: "He's really clumsy. One of the joys in life is to watch a great big huge man totally wipe out backstage. It takes John about three minutes to hit the floor. It's like watching a Great Sequoia falling gracelessly."

Thank You John for an amazing show, and giving it your all everynight. It is truly special to come across a broadway show with a performer as great as you. What you did on that stage every night was magic.

yes, I am sure Dirty Rotten Number will be very emotional tonight. If they aren't bawling, I sure will be!
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

Ahh, he's leaving!

John gave an absolutely amazing performance both times I saw the show. I love this man--he better be back on Broadway soon!

re: Congratulations to John Lithgow on his run!

I saw it last Sunday, or what was to be Lithgow's final performance. Like many on the board, I thought that Jason Gillman did a brilliant job. John also was great with his performance having suffistication and swaveness. I wish him the best in the future.
