They made their Kickstarter goal with time to spare. I loved this show and I'm very happy I'll have a cast recording of it. Jonathan Tunick orchestrations are just icing on the cake. Bobby Steggart was wonderful in this and it would have been a shame not to get hear him especially in the new songs they've written.

Thanks to YANK earning more than they needed we might see the extra money go to another musician for the recording or all the lyrics printed in their booklet.
Surprised but delighted!
Congrats! Can't wait to buy my copy.
Tazber, I'm not surprised that they raised the funds necessary for the recording. Saw a bunch of theatre industry people link the Kickstarter page on Facebook.
What surprises me is that no regional theatre has done this show. I think it would do quite well at Studio Theatre in DC.
I was surprised by the strong rally towards the end. I think just a few days ago, they were only at 65%. So I'm guessing there were some big contributions to pull them through. I didn't donate enough to get a CD, but I'll certainly be buying one.

Your memory is a bit off. :)
You see, the Yank Kickstarter campaign was at 65% on campaign day #25, 12 days before the end of the campaign. In those last 12 days, $12,592 was raised from 161 different people for an average of just $78 per person which is actually considerably less than the average backer of about $96 throughout the campaign.
The big ticket backers appear to have contributed more in the middle of the campaign. What happened in the last few days is pretty normal for a successful Kickstarter campaign when people who have been watching finally decide to back it and spread the word to even more people just before the end of campaign.
Data from Kicktraq
P.S. Classics is saying early 2014 release date.

The recording is scheduled for late-ish November, so January seems about right for the release.
I look forward to the CD and seeing Bobby in one of his best roles to date.
