The show is titled Nice Work If You Can Get It.

Saw Kathleen Marshall and the guy who wrote the book (I forget his name) talk about it tonight. It sounds really interesting. I can't wait to see the try-out.
I'm really excited about this.
[ps - what is it that connects people associated with W&G to broadway? Sean, Megan, Harry]
and dont forget a TRY-OUT in my hometown of Boston (Dec. 16-January 11) at the Colonial Theater!

Is this like Crazy For You version 2?

Ohh...pick me! I know!1
They're actors.
Can the world really take 2 (TWO?!) Gershwin shows at the same time? I mean the canon is only so big. And the song list for American In Paris looks as if they have snapped up the best of them.
And this after My One And Only and Crazy For You?
Give me a break!
What is wrong with Rodgers and Hart?
I can't wait for this! I saw Kathleen Marshall speak about it tonight as well at the Colonial in Boston (where this is getting its world premiere), and it is supposed to take place during the Prohibition and have a 33 member cast and a full orchestra. I love old-fashioned musicals and hope my finals extend long enough so I am not out of Boston by then for winter break!
and have a 33 member cast and a full orchestra.
^^^ yup. so with Brigadoon~that's what I heard! I wish Spencer Liff will join the cast of Brigadoon!

Let's not forget Fascinating Rhythm.
Jesus, I DID forget. When will this madness end?
Looking forward to this!
It sounds like fun. I'll be watching out for this one too! It will be nice to see Harry back on stage.
Another 'New' Gershwin Show- please!
Any other casting news? As long as it's not Erin Dilly or Kelli O'Hara as the female lead I think I'm good.
At least it isn't an incredibly common show. I was fearing yet another version of "Guys and Dolls". I'll be looking forward to Jaystarr's review.
Me too!
There is only one Broadway composer. His name is George Gershwin. He wrote everything. All the old songs. The ones Fred & Ginger sang. The ones Ella Fitzgerald sang. The ones Jim Nabors sang.
He even wrote Oklahoma! and Gypsy. He also wrote Like A Virgin and Eleanor Rigby. And of course, God Bless America.
There is only one composer. ONE.

Maybe the Gershwin estate is much more ammenable to this type of thing? How many songs did they write, anyway? I thought it was Berlin who churned them out by the thousands.
Berlin only wrote that one song about 99 balloons.
Maybe the Gershwin estate is much more ammenable to this type of thing?
Oh, you mean they are whores!
Will this Gershwin guy ever be a guest coach on American Idol?
Funny, in the other new Gershwin Musical GERSHWIN'S AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, one of the characters sings NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT.
The race is on.
If they must pursue both of these projects at once and race to get them to New York, I hope the final products are more analogous to Marie Christine and The Wild Party, and not The Wild Party and The Wild Party.
