I saw him in it yesterday! This was my first time seeing him in anything (I don't watch American Idol) and I was thoroughly impressed. He was an absolute pro. Amazing voice and great acting! Very engaging. This was also my first time seeing JACQUES BREL and it was absolutely gorgeous. What a talented cast.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

I saw him last weekend. It was the first time I had seen Jacques Brel, too. I loved the show. I loved the entire cast. Bob and Constantine definitely have a good connection. Jayne was sweet and funny and touching. Gay is a spitfire. I thought Constantine really nailed his performance. I was highly impressed. The show is definitely worth seeing. The music is timeless.

I love JACQUES BREL, and (embarrassed to say it) have seen this production close to 15 times. I'm really looking forward to seeing Constantine...I'm going to try and see it next week, I think. I'm also really happy for Jayne; I saw he go on several times while she was an understudy, and I'm glad she gets to have this moment in the spotlight.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I saw this show once a few weeks ago when Jim Stanek was still in it. It was OK. The highlight for me was Bob Cuccioli.

As big a fan of the show as I am, I'll admit that Jim was not great.

It's bizarre to me that this show isn't promoting Constantine more, especially with Idol back on. What's up with that?

Money?

Such a shame. Beautiful show with some of the best music and lovely interpretations. Fantastic cast and musical director. Maybe the times really are a changin' socially and people just want Disney fantasy fluff instead of a "message" musical. Too bad because the meanings remain relevant, perhaps even moreso.

I saw this show over the weekend, and have to say that the four actors now in the production work so well together I can't imagine any others in the show. The small stage forces them to be a part, even when they are standing in the shadows preparing for the next number.

Jayne was the perfect innocent-come-to-town in "Timid Frieda", Robert was fabulous in "Jackie", Gay's voice sounds just like a Paris cabaret singer, IMO, and Constantine? well, if all you've ever thought of Constantine was "American Idol", you will be really surprised to see him act and dance at this level, and hear his "real" voice. I thought his voice was the best part, hearing him really bring forth, really serving the songs, rather than singing for the pop crowd. Robert and Constantine work very well together, and Jayne and Gay show a wonderful contrast between young and mature womanhood. Can you tell? I really loved the show.

Editing to add: Ooops, I forgot this was supposed to be about Constantine. The show isn't about Constantine, it's a really great mix of all four players. In this he disappears into the player's role, one of four tightly intertwined characters. I thought he acquitted himself wonderfully. No hogging the spotlight, just great solo work and great ensemble work when called for. And the voice! Like you've never heard...
