**contains Rent spoilers**
Last night, there was a production meeting regarding the music, and the director announced that the change would not happen because of creative differences between the views of the production team and what not. So, looks like you guys got your way.
Save me all the "it was illegal in the first place", crap. Just stop harrassing me via inbox and what not... it's really asinine and immature.
I still reserve the right to not say where the production it is. Or if we're even rehearsing. You guys can speculate all you want, but I have every right not to disclose this information.

This couldn't be posted in your other thread because?
Because of ATTENTION!
Really? This couldn't be because someone at MTI somehow got wind of this?

I love when people ask for opinions and then get bent out of shape when they differ from their own.
You have no spoilers in this thread.
Why are you mad at us? What your director was doing was WRONG -- pure and simple. You knew it but yet thought everyone here would tell you that you were involved was brilliant or cutting edge. You were even PROUD of it.
I'm pretty proud of how many people here took issue with your production and spoke up against you (not that YOU are the one that chose the change). Did anyone here contact MTI to tattle on you? Who knows...but the odds are YOU did that yourself just by posting.
Illegal is illegal.

Isn't this more of an Inconvenient Truth?
"This couldn't be posted in your other thread because?"
Because of attention. Perhaps they're even still using the rewritten ending, and this posts is just attempting to save face and mask the situation. Whatever the case, you asked for our opinion, we gave it to you. Then you get defensive because the general consensus did not coincide with your thoughts. Why bother posting at all then? Was this just going to be a major ego boost for you if we all agreed that what your company was doing was so revolutionary?
Phyllis, according to the link posted in the other thread, the French Woods Camp production was in April 2010 (http://www.frenchwoods.com/pdf/April2010.pdf). So I don't think that's where the production is, but I could be misreading the PDF. Not to mention, the MTI website doesn't say anything about a French Woods Camp producing it.

I can't get pdf to download again, but I thought the date of the newsletter was April 2010 and that it was listing what they doing doing this summer. I'm not losing any sleep over it, though.
I also wonder if perhaps the ending was never changed, but the OP just wanted to posit the idea of Mimi dying to see the general response. I ain't losing any sleep over that, either.
EDIT: Thanks for the correction.
I'm not losing any sleep over it either, but just find this entire situation interesting.
Actually, I took the 7-11, etc to mean the AGES that were eligible to perform. Since the pdf seemed to be a summer camp newsletter...and the list of shows labeled them as Session 4 titles that they are yet to be performed. Perhaps each session at camp is 2 weeks long.

I'm with PRS and dramama, I think it was an announcement of it, rather than this is the month it's happening in.
And, if MTI isn't listing it at FrenchWoods, then it's entirely possible it's being done illegally.

I'm still leaning toward the idea that Mimi's death was nothing but an idea in Sean's head. He never did explain who they were going to rework the end of the show to make that happen.
