I saw the regional production of this (I also saw Adam Pascal there at the end of their last season) and it was incredible. As soon as I saw that they were making a movie I knew I had to spread the word. Thoughts?

1. What's your connection to the production? No one just decides to join a discussion board to innocently promote a brand new endeavor.

2. The text is horrid: those are questions that are written, therefore, they need QUESTION MARKS.

3. There is nothing in that vid that piques my curiosity.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Is this just some sort of teaser before a film might get made, or is that actually footage from it?

I dunno, it leaves me feeling fairly meh, but I'm always open to new musicals on film. Actually, I think it's about time someone tries to do a legit original movie musical again...

My connection is simply that I saw the stage production and the theatre company that produced it made this announcement today. I am a lurker of this board and thought it would be a great place to spread the word.

I agree. I find the lack of question marks strange.

I believe it's just a teaser. They said it doesn't start shooting until Aug 2012.

That youtube video was posted at 1:30pm and then 5 hours later you post the video here? How'd you discover it so fast?

Seems like an indie film musical, a la OPEN HOUSE and COLMA!. Hope it's good.

It actually did make me think of the opening to the flop late 90s Kevin Williamson twenty something drama, Wastelands, which he did after Scream and Dawson's Creek. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GUYH6mrD-Y was the only video I could find, so doesn't give a good sense, but...
