Are the Cort renovations moving forward? Or is a show moving in that hasn't been announced yet?
I wonder with the prom moving to the Longarce if the Cort will undergo renovations instead.

Not sure. The Landmark Commission considered the changes in Nov. https://www.forbes.com/sites/marchershberg/2017/11/01/record-breaking-deal-clears-way-for-cort-theatre-expansion/#73fd786e1df2 How many more hoops do the Shuberts need to jump through?
Also, if they would have had Prom, then I don't think that everything is ready to renovate the Cort.
Renovation and major construction of buildings surrounding the Cort...Hard Rock Hotel is being built across the street.

We were talking about this on the PROM Longacre thread earlier today, but I have a feeling the Cort renovation has not begun yet. Now maybe it could begin this summer/fall since The Prom is not going there?

maybe they decided with all the surrounding construction it was best for all parties involved not to have a show going on, I worked at Newsies when they were putting up that hotel next door to the nederlander and it was a mess we would hear them during walk in but contractually they couldnt work while performences were going on, it was not a great setup

You don't need to "have a feeling." You can just walk by the Cort and see nothing is happening there.

My feeling is the Prom move to the Longacre was more a real estate move than having anything to do with the renovations. Longacre is on the "better" side of Broadway with better foot traffic.
