Could Gloria Estefan star in On Your Feet?

She could play her mother and sing a few songs after the show...the Andess had a 'third act' after the curtain call for Over Here 40 years ago and it added greatly to the experience for a show I already loved

A reminder that Gloria Estefan is a superstar and not an actor. To have her play scenes with actual Broadway actors would not only make her look bad but would throw off the scenes since they were never constructed to have a non-actor superstar in those roles.
There is a wonderful moment after the curtain call when the audience does get to hear the band, many of them actual Miami Sound Machine players. A star entrance and a few numbers would be enthusiastically appreciated at this point. Still, it is questionable why an actual superstar who sells out stadiums all over the world and nets millions for a single performance would want to commit to performing eight times for week for 1500 people.

To get it some extra press. I am sure they are disappointed that there was no To y love. They want the theatre filled this summer to reenergize momentum. Not about money, about the length of the run and subsequent tours, etc. IMO

You do know she has acted before right? One of her big films was Music of the Heart that earned Streep an Oscar nom, she more than held her own to her. Recently she was in a few episodes of Glee.
