I kinda think so. With a cool rock score? And some revisions?
I dunno. Just a thought.
goodbye.
No. Those characters have no reason to sing.

I find I want to be dismissive to this question as well, but you deserve more of a thoughtful answer. And after thinking about it, sure. Why not? But the plot would have to be changed. She carries a secret through most of the first act and the act of musicalizing a piece is to let us inside a character's head. It would be hard and disingenuous to have her sing her feelings without giving that up. But with the right, talented writers, perhaps. Never say never.

IdinaBellFoster- No need to be curt. I was simply SUGGESTING an idea.
I don't know though. I can strangely see it working. They'd have to get the right composer.
A very cerebral musical to say the least
How about Mandy?
Only if there is a huge chorus of angels tap dancing in the middle of Act I to make it clear the Dad is really dead and just a spirit.
Sounds more like an opera with a score by Philip Glass.
Take Me Out would make a pretty great musical too. I thought of it while while watching Damn Yankees.

I actually think it would make a good chamber opera a la Passion.

I like that we always say "with the right writers" or "with a good composer" as if someone would purposely pick the wrong one.
