I can't wait to see this either--but, I must say, the "Forbidden Broadway" takeoff on this production is one of their funniest in years...

"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!"

Yes, but the broadcast will be in HD.
Yes and no. It will only be broadcast on HD on the PBS-HD channel -- the regular PBS channel will not be broadcasting in HD. Also, you need to have HD capabilities in order to see it in HD -- regular TVs do not produce an HD image.
Seems people assume because it says available in HD where available that they are watching a show in HD. They are not.

I assume nothing. I have an HDTV and I get PBS-HD.

My response wasn't directed at you -- it was directed at those assuming.
Relax, boo.

Whoo-hoo! The standard DVD release has been confirmed:
Tuesday May 20, 2008!
Raul Esparza, Elizabeth Stanley, Keith Buterbaugh, Matt Castle, Robert Cunningham, Kelly Jeanne Grant, Kristin Huffman, Amy Justman, Heather Laws, Leenya Rideout, Fred Rose. Directed by John Doyle. 131 minutes. Widescreen (enhanced for 16.9 widescreen TVs), Dolby Digital 5.1.
Here's hoping an HD-DVD and/or Blu-ray disc release follows.

Who's releasing the DVD? If it's the same company who released other GP DVDs (i.e. Candide, Sweeney concert) I'm saddened that there is no DTS track on the Company DVD, as one usually made it onto the others.
However, it will be awesome to watch this whenever I want.

It looks like Image Entertainment (Into the Woods, and SITPWG I believe) is releasing the DVD, according to TLA video.
They had a cover up, but I don't know if this is the final cover or not...
Anyway, I can't wait!!!

Posted: 2/13/08 at 3:55amI actually like that cover better than the blue with the boxes.

It's funny, at first I didn't really like the cover (if it is real). It kinda looked cheap and slopped together.
But then I thought about it, and it kinda makes sense to the show. The show is called "Company", but, ironically, the lead character is on it all alone, surrounded by darkness. Kinda like the mindset of Bobby throughout the show...
Anyway, I hope I get my DVD recorder working (it's on the fritz right now
so that I can record this on the 20th, because three months is a long way to wait to watch and re-watch this...
