Is that Patti LuPone?
Anyhow, I like it! It's got C-A-M-P painted all over it.

I love it too! Though after the disgusting GYPSY logo, I think it's just refreshing to see anything that's half-decent.
This logo just feels like a hit show though, it's really good.

I remember being dubious when I first heard they were turning Hairspray into a musical for the stage. And then one day I was walking down Shubert Alley and there was the first poster I had seen for the show, months in advance of the opening. I was like Lucy Ricardo buying that hat just based on hearing a description of it: "It has pearls..." "I'll TAKE IT!".
Anyhoo, the poster's enough to get me psyched to see Cry-Baby.

What did it look like before, popular_elphie?
I absolutely love it! Finally a musical has enough courage to make their logo look vintage rather than trying to make it look modern.
Edit: Even though the poster does look a bit like a western.

Posted: 1/29/08 at 4:15pmThat's a total Rebels Without A Cause style poster - works great. Even the font screams "Rebel without..."

exactly.
Craig, can you find out who painted/drew this?
I can't tell if its oil or colored pencil.

I totally get the "rebel without a cause" vibe from this...and I think its quite cool...but why did it also remind me of the poster for slumber party massacre??? ( i dont know what that says about me..lol)...I'd post the image of the poster here, unfortunately I don't know how to do it.
