Sorry, I couldn't find the old thread.
The Cry-Baby tour now has a website.

And South Pacific, R&H's Cinderella, Beauty and The Beast, & Handel's Messiah Rocks, will join it in NETworks' next season.

Sorry to raise the age old question, but, Which tours will be non-eq? From what I understand, equity just passed a new touring contract that has a much lower minimum than other equity tours. If this is true, hopefully there will be more Equity tours going out.

I was one of the few who liked Cry-Baby, but why on EARTH would they put up those horrendous demos? I would be turned off after hearing those...
I know South Pacific will be equity.

'BEAUTY AND THE BEAST' IS GOING ON TOUR?!?
Out-of-date-ish official list: http://actorsequity.org/newsmedia/touring_main.asp
Is the South Pacific tour the tour of the current Broadway revival? I am thinking that it is because the NETworks site has the revival logo right next to the blurb about South Pacific. But, do they produce Equity tours?
Also, when Light In The Piazza went on tour, who produced it?
NETworks does both Equity & Non.
Rumor has it, they are closing Hairspray and moving some of the "Nicest" boys directly over to the Cry Baby tour.
I wouldn't be surprised if they closed Hairspray, they are on year THREE. I also wouldn't be surprised if Brooklynn Pulver went with them as Pepper.
I hate that they're touring the Lea Salonga Cinderella and not their initial tour from 2000. I liked the Networks script and orchestrations much better than the Salonga version.

Are they attempting to make the Beauty and the Beast tour like the Broadway production and other tours of it? Like same sets and costumes? Or is it just going to be them attempting to do their own version of Beauty and the Beast?

^^^
I'm curious as to why we're hearing this from NETworks and not Disney or Playbill...

Does anyone if there will be auditions or if they are all ready cast?? Do you know where the auditions would be posted?

i hope they make a cast cd of cry baby tour on cd. because broadway did not do one.
NETworks doesn't do CDs. They don't do much merchandise either.
Very few tours have ever received a cast recording. I can only think of maybe three off the top of my head so I wouldn't hold my breath for a tour CD of Cry-Baby unless they pull a Story of My Life and decide they really, really want one for hope of regional success.

Just to put that one rumor to rest...Hairspray is going out again for a 4th year. Casting for the possible Crybaby tour has not been started, so the rumor about the Hairspray cast moving is completely false. :)
Hairspray must still be selling amazingly then.
Hairspray is going to asia I believe.
According to the press release from Seattle's fifth avenue theater, the tour of South Pacific is going to be the current Lincoln Center Staging. It will be directed by Bartlett Sher and not an assistant, so the assumption would be that it will be Equity.
Hairspray goes to Asia every year.

I live in southern nowhereville. My local theatre considers it a success if a 2-3 night is half full every night. Hairspray sold out in it's 2 day engagement at my town. Its not going anywhere
