"That brings up a point, why are there two people in that role? Is the role particularly strenuous, or is it his age as in like an Equity rule? I saw the show and it was wonderful, but there are plenty of other roles on Broadway that equally as strenuous as that one..."
His age? Both actors are adults.
The producers decided that the role was too strenuous. Their decision to make. Period. They thought it would be better to ensure that their leads stayed as healthy as possible.
PLENTY of other roles just as strenuous? I don't think he is off stage for more than 2-3 minutes the entire show, and there isn't a heck of a lot of time HE isn't the one doing the talking. The physicality (though hard for many to compare to dancing) is also taxing.
I'll be seeing this a 2nd time with my teenage son and was rather hoping I'd get to catch Trensch (sp?) this time, but that seems unlikely.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
