For those looking to use the mailer or just buying full price tickets, any good seats thru mid April for weekends are gone

I tried today & came up empty

Just wait it out. They're bound to release good seats closer to the date of the show you want.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

When the discount was offered for Curtains, I immediately started looking for seats. All the seats in Front Mezz and Orchestra were way back or partial view. Why bother to offer a discount in advance of the show, if there are no seats.

Out of curiosity, I checked the premium, special preferred credit card offer (do not remember if it was Amex or Visa), and full price. Basically, any good seat was in premium, full price credit card were ok seats, but a little back or off the to side, full price seats were just barely ok, and discount were bad. To be honest, I was a little irritate and started considering skipping seeing the show altogether since the show has not even opened yet.

I'm planning on going to the second preview and was just checking availability with the discount code. The first ticket I was offered was Row K, side orchestra but not PV. So, you can get good (though not great) seats with a discount code. It's better to wait until house seats are released, though.

They may have started releasing. I am a Broadway musical discount whore. If there is a 30% discount for a Broadway show before it opens, I will buy if I can get good seats, even if I know nothing about the musical. That is how I saw In My Life, Little Women, Woman in White, Hot Feet, Jersey Boys, Brooklyn, High Fidelity, and some others that I cannot recall. I am a presale waiting to happen. Just offer me a discount. However, in this case, I knew nothing about Curtians and was disappointed with the offerings and passed.

I also found tickets that were close enough, but they were pretty far off to the side. I think in this theater it makes a difference.

i don't think all tickets are like that. i got a ticket for March 17th via discount for Center Mezz Row B 105. maybe it depends on how quickly you snatched it up?

What's all the grousing about?

I just bought tickets for the March 3rd matinee using a discount code.

Suggestion: Instead of using the internet, try using the telephone. That's how I did it.

Gripping, hell no. It saved me $150. If other companies take the same pricing strategy, it could save me thousands. I will be cured of being a Broadway discount ticket whore. :).

my partner is a CPA, and -- well, you can do that math ... =:o

I posted this earlier, but for some reason a search for seats from April 17th through May 13th gives you nothing....????

I agree with other posters: wonderful house seats are almost always released a few days before: I got a third row center seat for Curtains with a discount code four or five days before the performance. Just start a week before you want to go and keep checking on the internet as often as possible and you should succeed! Also if you live in NYC, sometimes the box office has far better tickets with the same code, this happened to me with Coram Boy this week, Row C center orchestra with a code at the box office, but the same code yielded junk on the computer....
