DEH 6/11 performance

I noticed DEH has a 2pm show scheduled on the day of the Tonys. What are the chances the full cast will be performing? I would think they'd need to, you know, get ready for the biggest performance of their careers perhaps?!

They'll all be in, baring any kind of last minute illness.

Only Ben is singing at the Tonys as they're doing Waving Through a Window. Regardless, actors almost always turn upto matinees the day of the Tonys.

Everyone on here claims that the full casts are always on the day of the Tonys. However, last year Lin Manuel Miranda had originally been scheduled for the matinee (which I attended) but then changed his schedule a month before so he didn't have to perform. That's the only case I know of.

Yes but that's slightly different as Lin always had a show off and it makes sense that that week he'd want that one off. Audra was also out last year, due to her pregnancy but then turned upto perform at the Tonys.

Thanks! I wonder if Ben will stage door between that matinee and the Tonys. I live here and won the lottery yesterday (after 7 months of entering). I knew he doesn't usually come out to sign playbills on double show days, so I intended to go back today to get my playbill signed. I saw it was raining and thought he wouldn't come out, boy was I wrong and kicking myself that I saw on FB he did come out! It's a bit of a trek from Brooklyn to go all that way if he doesn't come out but I'd like to try to catch him sometime.

You're talking about the 6/11 performance, though, not the 7/11 one, right?

Usually actors get ready for the Tonys in the theatre, then get on a bus and head there straight after the matinee, so although it would be fun to see them off at the stage door, I doubt there would be any signing/pictures. It's a very hectic and rushed day for them, as they have the Tonys rehearsal in the morning too.

"Makes sense, and is completely understandable. I'll try another time. Thanks!

The entire cast is in the fully staged version of "Waiving Through a Window".

Yes, which is why I said that only Ben will be singing, not performing.

Are you sure about that? He always took one show off per week (in which his alternate, Javier Munoz, performed), and it was always Sunday (unless it was while the show was dark on Sundays, in which case his day off was Monday).

You are incorrect. When I bought my ticket in January of '16, Lin had a schedule of random days off that varied each week, but was published through June. He was originally scheduled to take off the Saturday matinee on 6/10, which is why I purchased my tickets for the following day (I did my research! Haha) He later revised his schedule to always be Sunday, and this was only a few weeks before the Tonys.

Yes, but he didn't do it because of the Tonys...

The entire cast sings at the end of the song...

Regardless, the ony person that does enough to consider taking a show off for it would be Ben.
