Now that DEH has won the Grammy, do people think it'll get even more popular or will decline?
Personally, I'm not sure. I saw a Wednesday matinee last week and there were many empty seats. I sat row B on the right house side with full view and the two women closest to the aisle said they paid 90$ and 75$ on Stubhub for 2nd row seats! A big fall from the prices before.
Thoughts?
StubHub isn't a very good metric for show health. By the time they are reducing their price, the show already sold that seat for full price.
As long as there's an Evan alternate on Wednesday matinees, that will most likely be the show with the least demand, especially during the middle of winter. I don't think that particular performance is a fair representation of the show's current popularity, and I don’t believe the Grammy win will have any effect.

even if there were empty seats, they were probably bought by scalpers.
It is highly unlikely that anyone has ever said, " X show's album won a Grammy? Well, we just buy tickets!"
Most peeps don't even know there IS Grammy for best musical recording.
It will have no effect. I guess the show will run 3-5 years.

Why would a Grammy win have any effect on the show? The award was not given on the air, only those who follow musical theatre will have taken notice that it won at all, and the win is not likely to make it any more or less popular with those who do follow musical theatre.

The seat I ended up in during the 2nd act in row B was not and so I wouldn't be surprised if the others weren't either.
As for people questioning why I said the Grammy thing, I guess I assumed people who watched the Grammy might be intrigued but most likely not now that I think about it more. Guess all it really does is get Pasek and Paul closer to an EGOT

The only thing I'm concerned about is how much it will be for a mezzanine seat when the show hits Los Angeles this Fall. And I have been calling out to fellow YouTubers if the show is worth the hype.

I wonder when they will be announcing the cast for the tour?!

We specifically avoided last Wednesday's matinee because we saw Michael Lee Brown in August when Ben Platt was unexpectedly out sick and neither of us cared for his performance. Instead, we bought tickets for last Thursday night's show with Noah Galvin, which appeared to be a full house (there were certainly no empty seats in the orchestra).
Vocally, Mr. Galvin is nowhere near Mr. Platt, but he did a commendable acting job in the first act; unfortunately, his performance became progressively weaker towards the end. He actually, inexplicably, smiled - a lot - beginning with "Words Fail" and continuing throughout "So Big/So Small" (Rachel Bay Jones did the best she could, but she actually laughed out loud at one point because of his weirdly out-of-character expression).

I will be seeing DEH next Wednesday for the matinee and have seen that it is the alternate performance. Since I don't know Evan outside of Ben I won't know any difference between him and the new guys, but just wanted to make sure that no other characters regularly take off that performance as well. Mostly hoping Zoey will be Dreyfuss.
