I don't really have any good answers for you. Usually, there are a lot of discounts after the new year, but tickets are in general are hard to get the week between Christmas and New Years.
There ARE more performances on certain days so you can up your chances of winning a lottery or getting cheaper seats. Of the shows you mentioned, Fiddler is in a large theater with lots cheaper seats and SA had not been selling out. But it's a very busy week to see shows. Good luck.

That week is the highest grossing week of the year. Most shows do hundreds of thousands of dollars in extra ticket sales that week. That said, your best, and really only bet for discounts, is TKTS on the day of. Download the app so at least you can start guaging which shows might be most likely on TKTS. You can also try the lotteries but that's it.
