DESSA ROSE Cast CD will be worth the wait

I got my copy of the DESSA ROSE CD last night. Footlight Records does have the CD in stock and are shipping them out the first of next week.

First of all, Jay actually did an amazing job on the packaging. Which, according to John Yap, was one of the reasons it was delayed. The double CD does in a book like packaging with a slip cover. Inside the book contains the complete libretto along with some nice color photos.

Now, to the CD. I've already listened to it twice this morning. It really is amazing. It contains the full show, including all the dialogue. Each woman gets her big moment to shine in Act One, Rachel York (one of the nicest person in theatre) gets the wonderful song about isolation with "At The Glen" and La Chanze (one of the sweetest person in theatre) get the haunting "Twelve Children". Which is just as powerful on the disc as it was in the theatre.

So, rest assured the CD is out. And Jay Records has really done the Aherns & Flaherty score justice.

It looks beautiful! I can't wait to get it. It's wonderful that they recorded the whole show! Dialogue and all!

Got my copy of DESSA ROSE yesterday...and you're right, the packaging is very elaborate! Nice to see Jay doing such a beautiful job with an Off-Broadway Show...I can't stop listening to it...I liked it in the theater, but I seem to love it on disc!!!

I ordered mine Tuesday from Footlight -- I HOPE it gets here today because I'll be away Tues-Fri next week, so won't get it for another week otherwise! grrrrr

If you're on the East Coast, it should only take a few days. I'm in Manhattan and I got mine two days later.

ughh Virgin didn't have it in the city.. and Colony had it for 49.98.. and as much as i am dying to hear it, thats just way too much!
