Bumping this up because I love DQYNJ!
And a note to Alex Gemignani: Please for the love of jebus do not do a third rendition of your Bring Him Home madlibs...
I'll be there, FUN!
Oh, and it's my birthday too!
DANIEL EVANS!!!
Oh man, I'm so sorry I'll have to miss this one But I expect plenty of stories and videos :)
It was a lot of fun! Daniel Evans was not there though. Surprise guests were Julia Murney & Tony Yazbeck. But we did get Jason Kravits as "Daniel Evans" as a candyman/crack dealer! The line I sent in was the first one they used too. This was my first time attending DQYNJ and I had a blast!
I was there too and it was an absolute blast!! I may be tired tomorrow at work, but I definitely won't be regretting it!
Too much fun. I will be missing it this summer, dammit!

The opening was fantastic. Murney and Kravitz were welcome surprises. Happy 2nd birthday, DQYNJ!
Also, Barbara Walters in Sunset Boulevard? Inspired casting.
And, sure, the kids have some scripted expletives, but stop yelling out inappropriate things for them to say. Really.
I'm sad for the hiatus. September can't come quickly enough~
I was there and it was my first time. I loved Kelli's soprano notes when she was singing the instructions on the pill bottle. My friend and I were talking about who they thought they would have do the madlibs. She thought it would be Kelli I thought it would be Ashely Brown. Turns out I was right when it was Ashley Brown. I did love her adult version of Spoonful of Sugar. I never heard her drop the F bomb before.
And, I am seeing Sunday on Saturday and I am contemplating on if I should get Alexandar to sign my playbill as Magical Phil.
Just for the record, the guy who yelled out, "menstruel" for the little guy was sitting next to me and he thought they had moved past the kids and on to the girl. He blushed a deep crimson and said, "Oh god, I am going to hell."
So today I am working with a kid and he is insisting on playing, "Spoon Full of Sugar," over and over. I may never listen to it in the same way. Will this one end up on YouTube or will Disney lay a brick?

Ashley Brown dropped the C bomb at last year's Bares, and might have completely destroyed my childhood. :)
I *loved* the fact that Lin-Manuel Miranda is already a punchline in one of the NY2 segments- for those not there, something along the lines of "this show sucks. I guess Lin-Manuel Miranda should have waited a bit before writing that second musical." Ok trust- it plays out much funnier than it reads as written.
and Kelli O'Hara will cut you.
And we all know what Asmeret will do for a little candy.

lolol yes!!! Between that last night, and Bares on Sunday, she's done a little bit of ruining of my childhood too. :) And then it was the "hey, I know you" bit in the second musical that killed me dead. Love her.
And I enjoyed the human puppets too.
Well, the funny thing was that she said it twice and I don't think anyone else heard it the first time. When she started jumping on the stage for the candy man, I had a serious Legally Blonde moment. lol
I thought everything was great last night. I didn't enjoy the poetry segment so much but it's okay. When I needed a distraction I just looked up at Hannah W. Girl provides good distraction.

I also didn't care for the poetry sketch, but it gave me fond memories of Joe's Pub and a poetry slam where Todd Buonopane performed a poem, as elphababoy212, about dildos...named chronologically after each Elphaba. Brilliant. I wonder if that video is floating around anywhere.
But, the poetry corner had the return of Collins Greenley!! Hee.
So much fun last night! The opening was killer. And Magical Phil, of course.
JerseyGirl, I think I was sitting in the row in front of you... my boyfriend and I were in the seats in the front to the left side, right next to where the actors entered and exited.

I think I was right across the aisle from you guys! I was in the front row in the center section in the very left seat, next to the stairs.
It was worth it just for 'Magical Phil' & Jason Kravits!
I just got home from NYC a little bit ago. For my first time here, it was absolutely amazing! I really want to go back again.
But yeah, I definitely will never look at "Mary Poppins" the same way again. LOL! And Magical Phil was awesome.
My favorite part of the evening might have been the Monkey Business play preview. First of all I loved how disappointed they were to have to review a play, and then the direction that Sarah took the skit couldn't have been funnier. The woman slayed me with every line. I too can't wait til this starts up again in the fall.
Oh, we must always boo at the straight play review! lol
That might have been us! The two guys next to me were a riot. I bought a "mystery beer" and ended up with gingerale. I was quite disappointed! lol Normally the performers sit in those seats. I was surprised they were available. Hell, the ENTIRE center section was reserved this time! Anyway, we are almost always there.
JerseyGirl, you are totally right about Disney. No Ashley Brown madlib allowed on youtube...
Disney would kill us all. It was hysterical to watch though!
