Lin-Manuel and Shockwave are mad talented.
So was Noah G.
Hope to see some videos online soon!!
I don't recognize any of the ITH clique, unfortunately. Or any of the DQYNJ regulars, for that matter. Other than liotte, cause I met you once at the Flea Market. So, to me, everyone was a stranger, except my friends.
The Mandy Gonzalez and whistling girls were REALLY annoying. I'm pretty sure the whistling girl was drunk. I was near her, and she kept hollering and whistling and being a pain in the ass. But I guess it's all part of the fun (?)
I took videos of Noah (amaaaazing), Lin/Shockwave (who were fab, as always), the blind date bit (cause my friend's boyfriend was one of the audience participants. How we love to see our friends embrarass themselves), and Groff (whom I agree was very weak). I'll see what I can do about uploading them, before the "official" videos are posted on the YouTube page.

BroadwayChica, we must be friends with the same people! The girl who's boyfriend was chosen is my future roommate.
^ Hee, that exchange was fabulous! I know Liotte, and Elphie, so I feel like I kinda know Chica by default now too. :)
Some videos are up on the 'Tube- start with Noah Galvin's doing "Rose's Turn", those of you who weren't there last night, trust me.

I just saw the videos, they're great. The weird thing is, they uploaded the exact same 4 scenes I happened to record.
Everyone go watch Noah's "Rose's Turn" right now. It's so so so so good. That alone was more than worth the price of admission for the show.

Groff's madlib may be the most awkard thing I've seen in a while.

I know, right? Poor Groff- it's not like it was omg the worst thing ever or anything, it was just... awks. I think it might have just been the wrong song choice- apparently TF doesn't work when it's slowed down for the madlibs.
I'm still waiting for the u/l of the The Upper East Side opening number. Oh, and you know what would be cool? If, when the dqynj website is up and running, if there was a place where you could look up the lyrics to their opening numbers like that- I want the The Upper East Side lyrics.

Hee- next month, if I don't meet you at Heights before then!
Rose's Turn would have been funnier if he weren't using lyric sheets. :)
The problem is that TF is in itself a jokesy song. Musical Madlibs works better when you take something really serious (Bring Him Home was a genius choice) and then set a different tone for it with the ad libs. If a song already says you're totally f*cked, etc, substituting for totally horny doesn't make it any funnier. So, yeah, that was a poor song selection. I can see how it might have been a good idea in theory, but it just didn't work.

Well, Walt, it was no different than when the kids do monologues- they have the mono-/dialogue typed out, too. It's only fair, and still hilarious.
And about the MadLib, it was awkward. Better idea in theory than in practice. If they were going to do something from Spring Awakening, I'm surprised they didn't do "Those You've Known," a song that's not funny and could have been easily made so.
I wish that the woman from Mary Poppins would've contributed something to the show aside from "I'm black." Yeah- we see. That's one of those things that is maybe funny once but once is enough.
How has no one mentioned Jason Kravitz' special skill?! I wish I could play the saw. Wonderful.
Yay Julie White.

The whistling girls were definitely Julie White's costars from "From Up Here". Just FYI.
eh- *shrug* -doesn't make the whistling any less annoying.

I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT HIM! Sorry Jason Kravits!! Yeah, the saw playing was really beautiful.
"The Upper East Side" video is up on the 'Tube... would be fun if they took a page out of Lin-Man's YouTubeing and posted the lyrics in the description (hint, hint ), just because some of it is still so hard to make out.
They just put Julie White's backstage anecdote up on youtube. Amazing,
I loved Noah's Rose's Turn. It was kind of the most amazing things I've seen in a long time.
Noah was a high point for me too.
Shockwave was as well and I loved the saw!
I totally agree with the Totally F@@ked comments...not so much Groff's fault, but song choice as well as the audience comments were particularly inspired.
And Yes Julie was great.

Anakela, the lyrics are in the "more info" of that video... Glad it's there cuz I couldn't hear so much of it, the crowd was cheering so loud. Which is a good thing!
I hate that I missed it, but the videos are great. Anyone who feels like saying, "hi" next month, I would love to meet ya.
I want people to say hi to me too!
I just rewatched Jason Kravitz's saw playing on youtube, how does one learn that you can do that???
pics are up (btw BWW photo desk, the name you're looking for is Vasthy Mompoint- the ??? caption in one, completely untagged in another), although there are no fun captions like there were on last month's set...
