Dracula, The Musical is a new musical vision of romance, terror and temptation based on the Bram Stoker classic novel. Book and lyrics by Don Black (Sunset Boulevard, Aspects of Love) and Christopher Hampton (Sunset Boulevard, Les Liaisons Dangereuses), music by celebrated composer Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel and The Civil War) with direction by Des McAnuff (The Who's Tommy, Big River).

Song after song after song after song after song after song after song.
The fantasticness that was the book was lost when they gave dracula a song to sing.

mimi,go pick on another show-this one's too easy-it's too demeaning for someone as talented as yourself-find one that's merely limping & hamstring it-or do you really enjoy beating a dead horse?
Let us all bear "whitness" to your conversion to courtesy & compassion....
....or not...

That website is terrible. They only give dates for a couple of shows and it's really outdated. For Peter Pan, they still have dates from last October listed as TBA and do not list Chicago, though I already have tickets.
That is just about the worst show for a tour. It will be impossible to keep the set the way that they have it (and that was the only good part of the show!). Plus, it's not likely to draw big crowds because its not a well-known musical (plus no splashy dance numbers, which often get the crowds out at local theatres).
Having seen some of these show, I can honestly say that, yes they are "scheduled" to tour. Just like shows that are "slotted" to open on Bd'w 2005-06.
I'm doubting a few will be picked up on the band wagon for too many cities. I've seen worse that have slipped into the controversial mix of "Broadway Tours". We'll see.
Yeah, hasn't it already announced that the We Will Rock You tour has been cancelled in Toronto?

I'm not the kind of person to bash a show- but dracula is just not a good show. Thats the simple answer. I wish it was better- I really do. Unfortunitly- it didnt go to the dark place it needed to.
Here is too a tour. Middle america gets to have yet another poor representation of Broadway.

I think Dracula will be successful on tour. People will see it because it's, well, DRACULA! Do you know how many gothic / vampire fans are out there?? I know HEAPS of people who would KILL to see what this show is like - and when I showed one person LIFE AFTER LIFE, they were hyperventillating! With that title, and the memory of other tours of Wildhorn, it will be a success. It will make something of itself. The one thing you have to applaud about Wildhorn, which has never been done with any OTHER composer who's FAILED on Broadway, is that he never gives up. He never surrenders what he's doing. He just keeps on going. That's one thing, despite the flaws in his work, I admire about him. And I hope it gets all the attention it deserves. As for the OTHER versions of Dracula: I think it will be their death sentence (so that won't be a good thing). Still, good luck to Frank, and I wish him luck with this and Camille Claudel :)
This is good news for actors...but not quite sure about audiences.

Yeah Dracula might be successful on the road.... after all...most stops on a tour are part of a season....
Once the reviews came out....the producers had a meeting with the cast and crew....and stated that they knew they would get bad reviews...after all the critics hate wildhorn...that why they opened in the summer....to try and hide the reviews.... it still didn't work..but it ran long enough....to get a Broadway run to sell it on the road...
I just look at shows like this...and think..all the money....wasted... I didn't care about any character up there.... no passion...no heart....
