My only hope is that the songwriting branch of the Academy actually will LISTEN (no pun intended) to these songs on that list... then we might see some deserving choices enter the top 5 for a nomination.

In the past four or five years, I've seen my own favorite choices for the Best Song award go unrecognized or even passed over for a nomination.

Prior to that, I had a perfect track record for predicting the Best Song winner (almost 15 years in a row!), before the nominations ever came out.

But all that changed recently. There was a big shift in the voting and the politics involved.

So, if recent history is any indication, if I think "Listen" might win the top award... maybe you should put your money on something else entirely!
