Is the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels lottery hard to win? What is the best day to go?

Yeah, I was thinking about going during the week. I tried it last Saturday and there were lots of people. Is it easier during the week? I wanna try to catch it before the Tonys!

I went for a Wednesday matinee and it was pretty easy to win. I've heard weeknights aren't so bad either. Good luck!

i met somebody at the stage door who used it three times and got tix each time. she said the first time she went everybody got tickets. and the next couple times there were maybe 5 people who didnt win. so i guess your chances are pretty good..but this was about a month ago when the lottery wasnt as well known as it is now.

Yeah, I think as time went on the lottery became more popular. It took me three times to win once, but I also have REALLY bad luck :0)

Front row. And it's a pretty good view, too...the stage isn't too high.

Midnght Dolphin and I tried it Thursday, and we got two more people to enter for us and none of us won, their seemed to be close to 70 people, much more than the last time I did it with a friend who won.

I got it on my first try, a Wednesday night. It was a bit of a miracle- there were about 40 people there, and it took me 10 tries to win the Avenue Q lottery. Still, it's fun to see them bring out the table and gold spinner- a much more elaborate setup than the show across the street. :)

I went on a Saturday matinee and then the next week a Saturday night, I won both times.Close to maybe, 30 or 40 people? But that was before it had tony nominations...

I tried last Wed. night thinking that w/ the weather and the weeknight that my chances would be pretty good. Out of our group of five, only one person won. But those odds are about right since I think at least 75+ people entered.

There are 18 seats available for the lottery - all in the first row (14 in middle, 4 on each side). So, if each person goes for 2 seats, then only 9 people can win. That's what happened when we tried for it.

Ultimately, my friends enjoyed the show from the front row, but said that they got sprayed by Lithgow spittle during Dirty Rotten number. I guess there are drawbacks to everything! re: DRS Lottery

Yes, I did notice from the front row, you could see spit from everyone, but Lithgow certainly was the biggest spitter.

Just correcting the math here. 14 plus 4 plus 4 is 22. They call (under normal circumstances) 11 names, bit I think one of the sides may only have 3, because they announce 21 seats.

JOHN LITHGOW I just realized, your last name is Butz! Both "Norbert" AND "Butz" are in your name! You must have gotten picked on a lot as a child!

I've tried twice (last friday night and saturday night) and lost both times. There were 60-80 people there each time. re: DRS Lottery

When I did the lottery, the odd ticket was dead center behind the conductor (who, by the by, is a very nice man who has probably received the 3rd largest collection of Lithgow saliva...right behind J.L.'s former and current spouses.)

wow! That's crazy. I stay away from the lottery on the weekends. I didn't get it for a Saturday matinee but had better luck for a Wednesday matinee. For anyone who wants to go and has a flexible schedule, I'd stick to weekdays for the lottery.

"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell plus i proudly share the title of the shortest member over the age of 10 with wickedrentq!
