Does anyone know what happened to the marquee of the Music Box? I walked by today and it looked like a tall vehicle had crashed into it.
Not sure if the image showed up, how embarrassing.

I can't see your pic! Can you try putting it up again?
They're making it look run-down for The Visit...
That's funny you posted this.
When I used to live in midtown I would notice that the marquee at The Music Box would be damaged quite often. They would fix it and a month later it would look like a truck hit it again. I eventually started taking note of it every time I walked by the theatre.
I suspect it has something to do with the Marriot Marquis loading dock next door.

Yes, it happens all the time. It must be the most frequently repaired marquee on Broadway. They really should find a solution to it, or at least repair it more quickly.

THey have posts in the sidewalk, but they are not far enough out to actually protect the marquee. But moving the posts would require tearing out some of the sidewalk. Maybe that would be a good project for the time between Pippin's closing and The Heidi Chronicles' opening? Constant repair must be expensive.
