Ok, so I'm turning to the board for wisdom. For my mother's birthday I'm taking her to see a broadway show. Its a tradition we've had for six years. Anyway I'm debating between getting tickets for Damn Yankees or In the Hieghts. My mother is a fan of classic musicals but for her those range between My Fair Lady, Evita, Rent and The Lion King. Does anybody have a recommendation? I was thinking about 'In the Heights' but haven't really heard raves about it.
Thanks in advance!

In the Heights. It's not even a contest.
A full scale production of Yankees for your mother might be good. This barebones production is not a good choice so I second In The Heights.
Damn Yankees, for all it's issues, it's still a great classic show. And, it's a limited run. In the Heights will be around for the next 5 years.

Did I mention In The Heights
I've seen both. I removed Damn Yankees from Plan C status (if we lose Wicked lottery and for some bizarre reason they're sold out of student rush at A Catered Affair) for Sunday because...ew. Overall I was not impressed.
My vote goes to In The Heights
Yes, IN THE HEIGHTS. It's a major work of American Musical Theatre and should not be missed. If she liked RENT, she'll hear echoes... I sure do.
Damn Yankees. This production is not to be missed. ITH will be around for years to come.

If you can't comment, then why would you? I mean, unless it's just for the attention.
Now to answer the question of DAMN YANKEES or IN THE HEIGHTS I think you have to consider your mother's interest and sensibilities. Why are those the only two choices? Personally I found DAMN YANKEES to be a delightful Encores! production and suggest seeing it while you can.
