Tough night for Follies. To come across the country after closing in LA last night and to come away empty is so cruel. Wanted Danny but can't be sad about Steve winning. Anyone but Jordan and Newsies. Most overrated show in recent memory.
The only review of a show that matters is your own.

Like, honestly? To me, Ron Raines was better. Danny was great but not "best" or anything. To me of the four he was the least impressive.

Having not seen the show, his Tony performance DID NOT seem like a Tony winning performance.

I love Danny Burstein. His being in "Follies" was a deciding factor for me buying a ticket. I felt my anticipation building for his big number and, despite being sure I would love it before it began, I was kind of disappointed.
I'm not surprised he didn't get the Tony.

I never got the love for Burstein in Follies. And I saw it 10 times! He was fine in it. Workman like. Jan Maxwell and Teri White were outstanding.

Follies and Jan, sure...Danny, especially after seeing how clumsily the whole number was produced on the Tonys, not so much.
Follies seriously got screwed. Even after after all its awards, I still have no desire to see "Porgy."

Oh, sure it's a big TV commercial, but I still get a little too overhyped for Tony night. All of the actors nominated in his category were quite talented, though. It wasn't like he lost to a cast member of Jersey Shore in a revival of Odets' GOLDEN BOY. (Hey, good stunt casting there. Any idiot producers wanna steal?)
