I don't think I'd admit to being abused by Liza...

After witnessing that repulsive tongue kiss at the wedding, I'd say she was the one who was abused.

So the big sunglasses he wore on Larry King were probably to cover black eyes? This should be a lesson for all of us. No matter how crazy in love and happy and as perfectly made for each other a straight couple appears, you never know if he is being abused by his big bruiser wife who's had a couple of hip replacements. Look for the upcoming Fox special: "When Fag Hags Attack."

I saw that on E! had to give it to the man, to have the balls to fight back through the courts, but still admitting that a near comotose woman beat you?!
What was he thinking. maybe he's one of those flaming males, with no strength, Bwayguy, what is the nick name for them in the gay dictionary? Twinks?

Remember last years'the "Michael Jackson Baby Drop" online game?
As I live and breathe, some genius queen is creating a "Help Liza Bash David!" online game: A screaming, drunken Liza throws lamps and household objects at David. The more that crack his skull in, the higher your score!

I only hope that David is in a safe house somewhere, beginning the healing process and preparing to piece together an independent life for himself, away from the controlling, manipulative and physically imposing Liza "Bruiser" Minelli.
Not for nothin', but just looking at David Gest is abuse...

Or should we call her "Bruizer" with a "Z?"
I think old Lizard Boy is in need of money .You could not dream of stuff like this. If they made a soap opera out of this debacle they could call it " As The Stomach Turns"

ACTUALLY, a long time ago, on a board far far away, when the lovebirds were cooing through the rush of their initial TV appearances as newlyweds, I did predict this exact scenario. And that time, the artist currently known as TeacherOfTheater took me to task because Liza had brought untold millions such joy throughout the years and she was a national treasure and how dare I rain on her parade now that she was well and truly finally happily married after all she had managed to survive. Cuz she's a survivor, dammit. I predicted it all, the relapse, the separation, the accusations. And I was labelled a cynic and hateful. But really, there's only so many narratives, and Liza just keeps doing it all over and over, again and again.

Well she is performing this Saturday night at the Kander and Ebb tribute here in Los Angeles. I hope she brings it up.

Thousands of people married to alchoholics could write similar narratives, albeit not taking place in such a jet set mileu. Mostly, they don't make the papers.
Moral of the story, don't marry an alcholic and try to reform him/her, even if the prospective spouse is brilliant, charming, and talented when sober.

Well, people marry for a variety of reasons. I really think Liza sincerely felt she found something positive for herself in this relationship. I have no doubt David knew what he was in for.
Excuse my non-PG comment, but the lawsuit does dispel a rumor. Gest is capable of f#cking her.
"I HAVE no friends. My husband is using me to be a star. I AM THE STAR!"
This quote from Liza has the ring of truth to it.

Man, Gest does go on about having produced the Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Craptacular. Remember? With the prosthetic nose flying off and the high priced tickets that were somehow supposed to benefit something at some point somewhere?

Let's look on the bright side:
It means more work for Stephanie Block and Isabel Keating.
Now who can we get to play David? I think Nathan Lane!!

I think only one person can play Gest, and that is James Carville. With his acting experience on K-Street, his own wife comparing him to a lizard, and his surviving what can only be described as abuse (aka being married to Mary Matelin), he's got what it takes.
I urge everybody to read the court documents. David accuses Liza of having been "unable to be effectively merchandised." That alone sounds like grounds.

Unable to be effectively merchandised? That's messed up!!
OK, the "baby drop" game was crass but where's this "beat up David" game?
....paging Mr. Gerard Allesandrini pleazze...paging a Mr. Gerard Allesandrini pleazze.....
>Moral of the story, don't marry an alcholic and try to reform >him/her, even if the prospective spouse is brilliant, >charming, and talented when sober.
She was already trying to reform herself when she married him. I have to wonder if he tried to take over her "recovery" and screwed it up.

I LOVE the Smoking Gun court documents! Gest is apparently an inveterate name dropper even as he is being beaten! We are supposed to believe that alcohol gave Liza superhuman strength and while smacking the plaintiff around accused him of trying to become a star and next thing he'd be launching a singing career. As Liza's little fists are flying, Gest replied, "I can't sing. Ask James Ingram, Michael Jackson or Luther Vandross."
I sure wish VH1 had been there filming the whole thing.
