Debbie Gravitte's new solo disc will be released by Jay Records. I adore her, and am very excited. WHat a track list too! Even something for you Wicked fans.

Thats to Bad...I My Univerty's Chorus Sang With The Boston Pops a few days and she was the solo Artist...I, as well as most in the chorus and the audiance were Very Underwhelmed, She sang many of the songs that are going to be on the CD..Not Good, plus her attitude...yuck

I think Gravitte has a big, classic voice. She may be a stinker to work with, but she's been top rate on most of the work she has done in the recording studio.

I actually did not like her "Defying Gravity"...It sounded almost too mature (If that makes any sense!), plus she pronounces the some of her words strangely odd.

She sings like buttah.

I love her voice. I had the chance to see her one-woman cabaret act a few years ago, and it was one of the best I've ever seen. A first-rate performer. Can't wait for the CD!

You are NOT alone, BobbyBubby. I remember the first time I heard her on the Zorba revival CD. "Life is what you do..." Man, oh, man...

I remember thinking, "Wow! Who is THAT???"

I had to run out and buy it without even hearing anymore of the songs. Such a lusty singer! And a rich, beautiful sound.

...And when I spoke with her briefly after her club act, she couldn't have been nicer to all of us.

Don't get me wrong...I love Debbie's voice...Has cheesey as it sounds I probably listen to her version of "Seize The Day" at least once a week...I just didn't like her "Defying Gravity".

My favorite performer ever and extremely nice, at least to me whenever I stalk her after concerts. I heard her perform Defying Gravity in concert a couple months ago and thought it was fantastic! A real singer with a unique, powerful, captivating style.

I'm excited to hear her version of Junk Man, the song that I think got her discovered, and I can't get enough of Mr. Monotony, the song that basically won her a Tony.

Her Menken album could be my favorite CD of all time.

I freaking love her. I love her Turkey Lurkey Time (Broadway Christmas), all her work in Brownstone, her Big Fat Heart, Hero (Unsung Musicals) , I Want to Be a Rockette, Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon, Daughter of God (Alan Menken solo album) , and Water Under the Bridge (Unsung Sondheim! LOVE LOVE!

ooh, I almost forgot I have her singing Cruella de Vil on one of those Child In Me albums! amazing!

Yes, that version of Cruella DeVil is amazing. Adding it to my internet radio playlist as I type.

Can't wait for the new CD. She was excited about adding Defying Gravity to the CD, but said she had to add the classsics to appeal to the masses. It's cool that she is including mostly songs that she has performed onstage.

I would KILL to have the sheet music arrangement of Poor Unforunate Soul off of the the Alan Menken cd!!!! I wonder if that is available. Because it is freakin amazing! I also love the God Help the Outcasts/Someday medley!! So beautiful!!!!! Do they have sheet music of her arrangements?

Her voice didn't do much for me. I heard her sing on a Gershwin concert album, and I was not blown away. I don't get the appeal.

I love her version of 'Defying Gravity'. It is completely different from other versions, very brassy! Gravity87, sorry you had such a bad experience. But Debbie Shapiro Gravitte is a sweetheart.

Can I just say that not only is she the most amazingly nice person to A.) meet and B.) work with, but her voice is sensational.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for confirming this for me, with her CD and all. Numero 3. I'm SO psyched.

Plus she's gorgeous. Believe me when I tell you auditioning for her is painful and nerve wracking. BUT AMAZING because well...she's amazing.

AHH I have to see that!! I was going to go see her concert at Carnegie...but alas I can't...and then she was gonna have a concert at a theatre the next town over but I don't think that's gonna happen..and even if it does I've got late night rehersal..but this sounds perfect!

I guess you are right...It is a bit more brassy than I'm used to. I love her "Don't Rain On My Parade"...It totally rocks!
