I can't imagine it would be a role in WICKED. The show is doing well without need for a "name" to compromise it's quality.
I have been a Deborah Gibson fan since her debut. I own all of her CDs, including her most recent ones. She is a phenomenal songwriting talent and a singer who touches my heart. I saw her recently in both Company and Brigadoon in Los Angeles and she knocked me out. She was also most gracious to me after the performance of Brigadoon. I don't know what role she is up for, but whatever it is, I am so excited for her. Detract her as much as you wish, I am a Deborah Gibson fan for life!

I totally agree!
I could come on here just because I don't like Barbara Streisand and say she's a fat hag, and sounds like a dying calf in a hail storm to me (try and take my gay license if you dare lol), but I won't because I have respect for her work whether I like it or not, as well as respect for her fans.
There's not one thing wrong with Colored Lights either Albin I'm sure she thanks you for the album promotion...
It's insane how people can be so closed minded to say ONLY Barbara Streisand can sing this song or Liza Minnelli can sing that one. Deborah redid those songs her own in the now updated way.
Brought those songs up if anything and to a much younger market than either of the above Divas ever could.
Comparing a song clip that doesn't do the full song any justice to begin with doesn't prove anything.
These closedminded people with her, listen to a song clip and trash her all over the web without REALLY setting down and giving the album a full listen, not giving her any credit or a chance from the get go. God yall know how to ruffle feathers if nothing else...uggh...
Any info on this new role?
Later,
Chris

I too am a devoted Deb fan and have been since 1987 when I first heard OIMD on the radio coming home from school.
I have seen her in a few different shows (Les Miserables, BatB, and Cinderella) and thought she was amazing in each of them. I've seen 4 different Belles and I enjoyed her enthusiasm and emotion more than any of the others. And also, at the risk of being lashed, she was also my favorite Eponine. Some people bashed her for playing the part in a "tomboyish" manner, but that is exactly why I loved her in that role.
I have also had the opportunity to meet her in person several times and she is by far the most gracious, friendly, and appreciative performer I've ever met.
Chris-I wonder if you might be right about Rent? She has been saying for years how she would love to play Maureen. I know she used to sing a solo version of "Take Me or Leave Me" in her show and it sounded great.
