Decent GYPSY seats?
#1Decent GYPSY seats?
Posted: 5/15/08 at 7:55pmLooking to order tickets from Telecharge...is it better to do closer side seats or further back and center?? On that note, how far back in the Orchestra would you says is too far back??? At what point should I start looking in the Mezz instead and what are the good Mezz rows?? Like the first five? I've never been to the St. James and every Broadway theater I go to couldn't be more different from the next. I hope you guys can help because otherwise I've just got to try my luck and hope the seats are good.

Posted: 5/15/08 at 8:20pm^ It's not. Front row center is so amazing. I mean, yeah, the stage is high, but nothing beats having Patti literally inches away from you as she's belting out that final 'for me.' Absolutely nothing beats that.

Posted: 5/15/08 at 8:28pmI've sat front row center twice- mind you the stage is VERY VERY VERY(a la palace) HIGH! If I were you I'd get front row mezz or 8th row center orch(if avaliable). I know Gypsy is VERY hard to get tix to lately.

The problem with rush is that if I'm coming from out of town, I don't want to risk not getting tickets. And my parents would be complaining the whole time that their necks hurt. I am a student though, so it's an option.
So first and second row mezz, eighth row orchestra...front and center with Patti singing "For Me" in my face...all sound good, but how far in the orchestra is too far back? And is it better to go further back center orchestra or closer on the sides at the St. James?
Thanks so much for all your help you guys!

As close as possible to see Patti's facial expressions (she has those trademark jaw moves), and to the right, that's where Laura Bennanti does her "Little Lamb", the sweetest version of that tune ever.
Spoiler: Patti enters down the right aisle.
