Deciphering the next musical

Hi, Our school is going to anounce the musical we are doing next year later this week, but I was wondering if someone might help me decipher the clues given to us-
1) one
2) 2 in 1
3) 2 words
4) starts with the letter a or h

If you could help me out, it would be great and kinda fun.

one of the clues is, plainly, the word- one
and the other clue is - 2 in 1

i dont know what those mean, that is all they gave me.

1 and 4 makes me think A Chorus Line, but not sure about 2 and 3

beenthere -- i totally think it's THE ACT!

the title is (one) Act
But there are two inside of it (2 act show)
And it's two words and starts with A!

Well with clues 3 + 4 I think you can narrow it down to Ain't Misbehavin', Anything Goes, High Society, and Hello Dolly --- can anyone fit "one" or "2 in one" into any of these?

Do you have any idea if these clues usually pertain more to the show itself or if they usually act as a word puzzle for the title?

I immediately though A Chorus Line too. I'm just wondering if this is a word game for the title or if these are clues to the show.

Starts with A or H- first initials of opening scene characters?

It just seems so strange to me for both A and H to be mentioned to seemingly throw us off. I feel that they both have to have something to do with it.

I thought A Chorus Line because "One" is the big song in the show. It starts with an "A." It's got two acts?

At our school we have been hearing alot of these 6 shows-

1) sweeney todd
2) Urinetown
3) Jeckyll and Hyde
4) Beauty and the Beast
5) Ain't Misbeahaven
6) Meet Me in St. Louis

ohh and I forgot to mention its a comedy

Perhaps the "2 in 1" clue refers to a show with a play-within-a-play structure, such as how Kiss Me, Kate has The Taming of the Shrew in it.

Also, if that were the case, it could explain the clue about it starting with A or H....the musical proper could start with one letter, and the show inside could start with the other. Updated On: 5/29/06 at 10:38 PM

If it starts with an A or an H, how could it possibly be Urinetown, Sweeney, St. Louis, or Beauty?

Unfortunately its not Avenue Q, although everyone wants to do it. I live in a pretty liberal city, but our audience is more concervative in the type of shows their kids will perform in and besides our school did Of Mice and Men last year though it was a hit, they said it is going to be the last small cast show our school does, and avenueq is like 7 or something, so it cant be that one.

2 in 1 could also be referring to the split persona of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. There's also an H in the title.
