I guess so.
Oscar the Grouch was a pretty cool guy.

Diana was at the "open call," as was Marty Thomas for some strange reason. They should have started the rehearsal process. To me the whole show seems a hot mess. The director asked for "Pop musical theater" at the audition, then about half-way through asked for us to "bring it." I wish he would just come out and say he wanted some American Idol riffing and belting because we know that's all he wants. But riffing does not a show make.

What was Diana doing at the open call anyway? Just hanging around? Marty Thomas there seems random though.

Actually, the Equity Guest Artist contract does not allow touring, so I do wonder how this is happening.
^Really? That's news to me.
I'm wondering what the arrangement is then.

It's only a few weeks within a region of Texas, so I wonder how they are classifying it.. You don't always hear joint productions among several theatres referred to as 'tours'.. it.s situational.. and you can always apply for exceptions with AEA. They won't always grant, but..
HMMM The Wizard of OZ with Diana DeGarmo? Sounds Like BKLYN.

It was really odd. She was there for like an hour then left because she "had to go pack for a trip." Why would you get up at 8:30 and hang around for an hour just go pack for a trip? Seems like they were whoring her around or something. The whole process was sketchy. It seems like they were only calling back people they already previously knew, which whatever, I guess that makes sense - you work with who you know and like.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if she's regretting getting involved in this. The whole thing just seems like one big mess waiting to happen.

Check out the You Tube clips. I mean, it's just awful. I really don't understand the point of the musical. This has already been done, and better, so why would producers give money to it? It's just a two hour riff fest a la Brooklyn, which itself was a hot mess.

The audition process was a disaster. They didn't have sides for certain characters, so, they had people reading other characters they couldn't possibly be cast for just to see if they could, "read." Just have people do a monologue.
I was one of the "lucky" people who got called back. The whole thing was just strange; I'm glad I didn't book this "gig."

Wow , it seems a few people are reading disaster based on little info. It is possible Diana may regret getting involved but she took a risk and it may be fun.The youtube vids are not of Diana but Mikalah Gordon and previous another female(?) I'm keeping an open mind but I praise Diana for having the guts to sign up to something that bombed before rewrites.Who knows maybe its a hit.

All the clips shown on youtube that are not of Mikalah Gordon and the other Idols, were from a very low budget local production that was done for fun. I know this because my friend wrote/directed/and produced the entire show. This past weekend was opening weekend and it went wonderfully. Diana seems to be having a great time...and the show was phenomenal. I think people need to stop judging something they haven't seen based on a few clips from Youtube. And as for the comments about someone directing something they wrote...Todrick has no problem realizing something he wrote isn't working and changing it. People are being overly critical of the show. It's a lot of fun and if anyone lives near where it is going...and it is going to a few places outside of Texas...then they should go see it and judge for themselves. And it didn't "bomb" before rewrites...it was only done on a local scale before the previous Idol cast show and this one.

Found a pic on internet of OZ backstage, Apparently a few drag queens showed up hoping for a pic with Diana.

Anyone that knows Diana knows how much fun she is to be around.

I saw the show opening night in Dallas. I cannot say the overall show is great because it isn't, sorry blondebaby but it's true. Diana Degarmo's vocals were out of this world. Diana carried the show on her back and made it a fun. The audience seemed to have a good time, especially the kids. She signed autographs and posed for pictures for a long, long time afterwards. Thumbs up for Diana. Thumbs in the middle for the overall show.
dutch46mill2 those pictures are not from backstage. The cast appeared at a Dallas club called S4 and peformed a song from the show. Diana stayed at the club afterwards to hang out and that's where the pictures are from.

I didn't get to go to Lubbock to see the production with Mikalah in it, but from what I have heard...while she did great at the acting part...not so great on the singing. Her voice just isn't right for the high notes that are sung in Dorothy's solos. I think the show is going really well and everyone is having a great time doing it.
and if anyone wants to see Diana singing one of the songs....you can go to http://cbs11tv.com/video/?cid=7 she was on a local show this morning.

Diana was on Good Day Dallas this morning singing the same song that she did on the CBS morning show...but this one actually goes all the way to the end of the song. Quality of sound isnt the best but she sounds great.
