I’d love any reports of successful or unsuccessful experiences with the ticket rush for Lehman Trilogy.
Also any cancellation line stories!

Posted: 4/12/19 at 9:18amLast Saturday I arrived at 9am, was #17 in line. By noon, the line was probably about 30-40 people. By the time they got about #10, evening seats were gone, still selling matinee rush. I got in for the matinee and there were still a number of empty seats nearby through the entire performance. Good luck if you go!

Not crazy about how the system seems to be working now, and it is generating bad feeling about the Armory/the production. Short version: paid line-sitters got all the tickets except one or two. I imagine lots of people are used to this, I'm not, except for the Hamilton phenomenon.
Long version: My friend went yesterday/Friday to try to get tickets for us. He got there a little before 8 and was 8th in line, but then at 9 or so, more than an hour later, 3 people working for a line-sitting operation turned up claiming places at the front of the line, saying they'd been there before, where a guy who'd been there in a tent was holding places for them.
There were about 30 people in line by noon.
The number of tickets to be distributed was never announced -- people asked but the person in charge declined to say -- and as it turned out, only one non-pro, who got there at 6 am, got any tickets. (The line-sitting people had hats identifying them. They also handed out cards guaranteeing tickets.)
What do people think about this? I imagine you've discussed it before.

They were there last Saturday as well. The ringleader=obsequious and obnoxious. He appointed himself line monitor and took inventory on who was buying how many for the or matinee. He got to me and said, "you'll be the last rush ticket sold." I wasn't.
I've seen them at other events/venues. If they are a legit service, registered, etc., there's little any venue can do to stop them.
That said, why anyone would pay a fee for someone to purchase a discount ticket is beyond me. Lazy and stupid IMO.
I'm sorry you missed out. NT Live is showing it in cinemas in July and August. Go. It will be worth it.

Thanks Susan for the sympathetic message! As I think about it the sweet spot for those guys has to be exactly this, show is totally sold out, secondary market is insane at $500-$1000 — so paying extra for rush tickets can be worth it, vs no tickets or $$$$$ tickets.

Seating amount dictates Broadway, not Off-Broadway status, no?

No. A Broadway theatre can’t be under 500 seats, but many theatres over 500 seats are not Broadway. It has more to do with contracts, and other official designations.
As for the pricing: I agree that it’s ridiculous, but so are Broadway prices, and I don’t think the pricing of this show is any more ridiculous simply by virtue of being off-Broadway. It’s an extremely high-profile production, by award-winning artists, with very high production value.

Last September, I paid $45 for my opening night seat in row N, and, for preview performances, prices started at $35. A friend who saw the show today paid $95 for her row A center seat. Just because resale prices are outrageous now doesn't mean that the original prices weren't reasonable. The lesson here is to pay attention to what's opening in the future, and buy early. I learned about The Lehman Trilogy from this board, and, as soon as I read reviews of the London production, I bought a ticket.

Thank you to everyone that posted. I was trying to figure out a day to so rush for this show, knowing how popular it has become. I was going to go really early and hope for the best. Seeing this report with the paid line standers - ugh I hate a rigged system - made me see it was not a great idea.
ANd then THANK YOU to Jordan - I will be getting a ticket for NT Live for July. I bet that will be challenging too unless they add more dates/theaters.
Thanks, BW peeps! I really appreciate your reporting!

My friend attempted rush arriving before sunrise and ended up going home. Apparently, the line started as early as the evening prior.
