Ouch! Straight to paperback and never even a hardcover release? That's the equivalent of a film going straight-to-DVD.
I'll pick-up a copy next week at the $1.00 bin at Wal-Mart and let you know what I think.
Love me some Sheryl Lee Ralph but poor gal. Even Faye Resnick's memoirs were released in a hardcover release.
Exactly.

"That's the equivalent of a film going straight-to-DVD."
Nowhere near. That would be self-publishing an e-book.

Posted: 3/14/12 at 11:33amI thought a self-published e-book would be the equivalent of trying to sell homemade DVDs of your college film project on ebay.

Not anymore. Welcome to 2012. The hardcover-to-paperback-one-year-later model is becoming a thing of the past. As more and hardcover bookbuyers start buying books as ebooks, more and more books are coming out in paperback and ebook only.
Redefining Diva is actually very good, especially the material on Dreamgirls.

Posted: 3/14/12 at 1:19pmThat may be true, joey, but I would still be surprised if this book sold more than a few hundred copies. Like I said, I love the lady, but who's really interested in paying money to hear her lie about herself a little?

Posted: 3/14/12 at 1:40pmIs there a chapter on THE FIRST WIVES CLUB? That ought to sell a few more (all to me, of course).

Posted: 9/12/12 at 12:30amI just read this...One thing I thought strange....she describes her last night in Dremgirls and how she was the first to leave the OBC yet....the Playbill scanned over on Playbill shows that she was still in the show but Jennifer Holliday, Loretta Devine, and Cleavant Derricks are all gone. What gives?
