Did anyone see Come Fly Away? If so, what did you think?
I really liked it! I am a big fan of Twyla and fully appreciate a good dance show. These dancers are so talented.
I have been following information on the show: http://www.facebook.com/comeflyaway?ref=ts
Thinking I might want to see it again....
Nope, looks like you're the only one here who has seen it.
Thanks for joining today and shilling, I mean, sharing.
Broadway Rewards is 'offering' free tickets. I still haven't convinced myself that I want to see it. I thought Movin Out was entertaining fluff, forgotten an hour later. I still recall her movements fromthe film Hair.....is this closer to Movin Out or Contact?
What is Broadway Rewards and how are they offering free tickets?

Yes, and absolutely loved it! I've been a Twyla fan for a long time and have to say that this is her best piece! Such incredible energy and the dancing was phenomenol. I'm already planning to see it again with the alternating cast!
I saw it last week and i LOVED IT!! I am a huge fan of Movin' Out so i knew i would enjoy Come Fly Away going into it. it has less of a tight story than Movin' Out does, but there are still clear character progressions and stories among them. the choreography is brilliant and the dancers are PHENOMENAL. john selya and keith roberts are the two of the most talented dancers in the world, and i wish the whole world could see how amazing they are! karine plantadit and holley farmer are fantastic, and laura mead and charlie hodges are so funny together! the entire cast is amazing and i can not wait to go back and see it again!

sigh. there was a time on the internet when it was common courtesy to lurk for a time before posting.
which is just to point out that anyone who has "lurked" on this board for any amount of time would know that the majority of posters can easily detect when someone is shilling for a show, which just means that you are more likely to hurt the show than help it amongst the readership.
What I want to know, shill, is why the title change. Come Fly With Me was perfectly fine. Did the publisher give you guys ****?

I was at last night's performance and all I can saw is, WOW!!!! What a great team of dancers and what a treat for all dance aficianados. There wasn't one person in it who wasn't delivering a stellar prformance, although I think Keith Roberts may have the slightest of edges. But they all were super great! Strongly recommended from this quarter and a big BRAVO to all!!!!
Movin' Out was fluff???? Never heard that one before.
I'm definitely on the fence with this one. I'm curious, but not entirely enthralled. And there are gads of off b'way stuff I'm trying to find time for....
come fly away is a must see, not only for a wonderful show, but just to see how amazing these dancers are. just watching them is so incredible and inspiring, even to non performers...my friend who only came because she is a sinatra fan was completely amazed by them!
i absolutely loved the show and i hope john selya and keith roberts get tony nominations...and if twyla doesn't win best choreography i don't know what ill do
here is the opposite of a shill:
I sat through this tonight and the kindest thing i can say is:
sloppy, uncongealed mess...the kind of floor show that is better seen wherever you can more comfortably slip out to the main deck for some shuffleboard

^ I completely agree. I was there tonight as well. It played like a glorified cruise ship show. I remember a few numbers but most of it is completely forgettable. I enjoyed Movin Out more than this.
what were you expecting to see when you walked into the show?

I was there tonight and I enjoyed it. The dancing was great. Life changing plot? No. But entertaining. I think it would be better served with someone actually singing the songs live though and not Frank's voice piped in. I perked up every time the featured vocalist came on. She was great. I think it would add more to the theatricality of the piece and make it feel like less of a ballet.
I do want to see this but I sure as shlt ain't spending $70 to sit in the back of the mezz for it.

I got a ticket off the half-price line the day of the performance for Orchestra, Row J, on the side. The view was slightly blocked, but I could see everything else just fine.
