I'm doing research on CHICAGO but only coming across productions that replicate the 1996 Walter Bobbie-Encores production.
Have you seen any productions that do anything different?

When this production closes (whenever that will be) some director out of town at a regional theatre will do a big colorful production similar to Fosse's and everyone will be amazed at how "such a small dark show works so big and bright!"

The English and Australian productions in the '70s and '80s were entirely original. I would assume there would have been other European and Asian productions over the years that did not replicate the Fosse template.

The only production of Chicago I've seen onstage was the Takarazuka show at Lincoln Center last summer. Does anyone know what inspired the choreo for that?

That production was an almost identical recreation of the current Broadway revival.
A regional theater here in Chicago is doing a new production of Chicago in a few months. They usually throw a lot of money at their productions so it might be real interesting!
