Well the lotto guy told us as he was drawing that Norbert would be out Sat night. So it just depends on the situation.

So, think its safe to assume that if he is going to be out Sat night, he probably will be out Thurs, Fri, and Sat Mat as well.

My friend saw the show today--she said Norbert was in. Ahhh! 1 performance later.

I haven't seen Pryce in person lately, so he very well could look older than Lithgow these days.

I think, without a doubt, Pryce looks older... JMHO

He does, Margo. He seems older than John even though he is not. John Lithgow is just blessed with better genes I suppose.

We all know though that Lithgow is indeed 2 years older than Pryce, right?

right
hey, i just guess that some men age faster than others, like i am said to look about 16, even though I am much, much younger.
I dont know if that applies to this situation, so yeah :)

I'm glad Norbert is back in!

I hate to agree but Pryce does look older. Genetics but i also think its just their physicality, Lithgow is a fairly big fella and Pryce well why he is not short sure does not have Lithgow's bulk. It's one of the things I noted that gags that were funny ( IE the cowboy hat pushed down on Lithgow in Oklahoma?)just looked mean when doen to Pryce. And the wig is still a disaster!

That's a shame to hear. I was really hoping a new cast would add some different life to it, but maybe the weakness was in the understudies? I wonder how the show is with Jonathan and Norbert doing their thing, rather than Jonathan and this supposedly-awful understudy. Still good, I'm sure, but probably eh. I wonder who Norbie's replacement will be....

(Alright, while I'm at it, I know you're all gonna KILL me for this, but I need the writing address to DRS. This is the most recent DRS thread, and so please don't yell at me, I just can't find another with the address. Thanks in advance. re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels 3/14/06 )

TVB, though Parks didnt like it, there are many, many people that did. I respect Park's opinion but don't let one person be the sole decision maker of the new cast.

I was at the matinee today and everyone was in. It was my second time seeing the show. I don't have a definitive opinion on Price vs. Lithgow - I like them both for different reasons. Norbert was amazing as usual. Joanna does seem a bit ill - she avoided the higher notes when she could. I enjoyed Rachel York but she just didn't seem to have the presence that Sherie did. All in all - a good show. My dad even liked it and he hates theatre. (poor man - maybe I'm adopted)

Oklahoma was in a lower key back when the show first started previews--but they raised the key in the 2nd part of the song (after all the dancing and whatnot, I believe). Now, the whole song is in a lower key. It seems like it's not ridiculously high, but for some performers, it may be. It just didn't sound quite right to me.

Joanna has avoided hitting the higher notes for a while--she did the exact same thing when I saw the show in July. It sounds alright. Not bad.

Just got back... all leads in, and an amazing crowd tonight !!!
Did not see an empty seat. Greg Jbara made the "Equity" speech after the show, and he was very funny !! Pryce went into character, and made a comment about his autographed picture, commenting that the picture looked "quite remarkable"- Very funny !! Loving Rachel York more and more !

NLB was his usual excellent self, although his voice sounded a bit strained tonight.

******************* SPOILER *********************

Very funny moment during the "Ruprecht" scene... Butz got the string from his "fart jar" stuck on his head, and couldnt get it off.

Pryce also started using his jacket to hide Norbert's stomach from Jolene during the same scene, which we had never seen him do before.

Glad you enjoyed the show! I've heard Norbert's voice isn't sounding too good right now re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels 3/14/06.

I hope he gets better.

Voice definitely not up to snuff.... Pretty weak on "Great Big Stuff".... he still rocks, but you can tell, his voice is not 100%

I'm glad I saw the original cast twice too re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels 3/14/06. Rachel York really is the only person who is better (or close) than the person they replaced, in my opinion. Mylinda is funny--but I like Sara more--she's a little prettier and she was better with the choreography. I liked her voice better--and the song used to be more upbeat--but Mylinda still does a good job.

Pryce was just dreadful to me 80% of the show.

The last time I saw the show, Pryce was in along with Butz. I honestly was very wary of Pryce in that role. Like others I thought he looked way too old and that he wasn't going to be as funny as Lithgow. The show started on "Give Them What They Want" and I was further disappointed with his voice. It sounded weak and once again reminded me of an old man. "Muriel from Omaha" came out and (I've said this before) I strongly felt that the only thing she could possibly want from this man was an introduction to his French friend.

NOW - having said all that... Great Big Stuff started and he started getting stronger and stronger in the role. By the time Ruprecht came, he was flying. As much as I loved watching John and Norbert together, I have honestly never laughed so hard in my life as I did watching Jonathan and Norbert. Tears were running down my face! With "Ruffhausen" it all started again. Honestly - I can't wait to see this again. It's absolutely hysterical. I'm just keeping my fingers and toes crossed that they're both in it the next time I go.

BTW - Greg was out when you went because of filming he was doing for "Conviction". He's playing a judge and the episode is scheduled to air on NBC on 4/21. I'm really sorry you missed him because he's my favorite in the cast!
